yea, "I Stand Alone" was supposedly mega tune that i believed got scrapped right before they put in the final setlist. "They aint got nothing on you, they aint got nothing on me" was definitely during the DIV sessions. Liam said he wrote it while he was in jail and apparently it was only one verse that was repeated a few times in the song or something like that. Around those times they had the songs "Lord Don't Slow me Down", "Stop the Clocks", "I want to live in a dream in my record machine", "The Boy with the Blues", and "The Magic isn't right". they easily have enough material for the next album, they just have to tweak the songs. between now and when they start recording, they'll have the best of the ones that were suppose to be part of the new album and they'll have the new songs they'll write. it'll be mega.
- cheers !

I Stand Alone was a totally fake made up title that fooled a load of people from forums to the Top Of The Pops section of the BBC website. Unless someone can tell me an interview where a member of the band refers to it then, in my opinion, the track doesn't exist as the only place I've seen it mentioned is an article in The Sun, which makes it highly doubtful.

There also was a track called "Down Into The Universe", (or something like it) that was supposed to be a duet between Liam and Richard Ashcroft... That was JUST after the DIV sessions. Never ever heard about it ever since ...
I believe Noel said it wasn't the right time back then to work with the DIV guys, and that in the future there was a possibility they would go back into the studio again... Dave Sardy and Death In Vegas together .... for Oasis .... That MUST be an epic album .. Hope it will happen for the next one :-)

Yeah that "I Stand Alone" is pure crap, they made up when Green Day had that song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which have the same chords as Wonderwall, and the verses go like "I walk alone...", pure bullshit.... But "They Ain't Got Nothing On Me..." it's definitely real, cos' it was mentioned more then once by Liam at different stories.... And during the HC tour Noel said he had wrote four songs: "Stop The Clocks" - which acording to him was still acoustic, but could be massive "Don't Be Down" - which later he revealed he wrote for his daughter Anais, and it should never be released due to that "I Wanna Live A Dream In A Record Machine" and "The Magic Can't Be Right" which were never mentioned again after that... And about that "The Roller" wrote by Gem, I'm not pretty sure about this one... I never heard from any official source, and it's been going on since before HC, so I wouldn't count in hearing any time soon... or ever if that matters.... I think as sure things for the next album only Stop The Clocks and The Boy With the Blues

But "They Ain't Got Nothing On Me..." it's definitely real, cos' it was mentioned more then once by Liam at different stories.... Again, can anyone give me a source to where Liam mentioned this song, other than that Sun article.

for mr monobrow, first of all i said "I Stand Alone" was SUPPOSEDLY suppose to be a mega track and their first single. i didn't say that it existed. and secondly, i definitely read a few things for "they aint got nothing on you, ..." liam and noel both commented about it being for his time spent in jail. i'll look for a source. if the sun made up that song with that much detail...then i'd respect them even more. TopGun and myself are right. i forgot about "Don't Be Down" but i don't really remember that one said to be on the album. but maybe i'm wrong.
- cheers !

Check that guy's website. He seems to have spent a lot of time reporting all the missing rumoured tracks. You know who I'm talking about...That guy.

Never heard about that ashcroft liam duet down into the universe but it sounds like it would be very cool, that clip of a new liam song with gem on piano sounds promising to .

Yeah, it'll be mega The only problem is that by the time they lay down the tracks for the next album Noel will come out with the usual "the time has passed" for ALL of those tunes... and we'll never hear any of them I'm afraid. Which is a shame really, because I bet they are all great... but I'm sticking to what I have said all along... Stop The Clocks will NOT be on the next album. I'll my Red Sox hat if it is.

Yeah, I remember a load of Oasis-related articles in the NME around that time listing that bunch of "working titles", most of which I think they robbed from an old oasisforum.com fake post. It's no coincidence that not one of those songs was either released around the time of Don't Believe The Truth, or has been mentioned by any member of the band by name. So I'm not counting that as a real mention.

if you go to noelrock.com and go to the news headlines and then click on "oasis split with div" it mentions the titles of some of the songs. and it says the source is from XFM. i can't find the other thing that explained some of liam's songs coz i cant remember the site. but i remember after it explained "they aint got nothing on you,..." they then talked about Love Like A Bomb. so whatveer it was it had some info. oasis are known for scrapping songs then never mentioning them again. so yea. maybe the thing i read was from the sun....but like i said, LLAB was mentioned and that was true.
- cheers !

i had no idea that my little query would cause such a heated debate... you must be feeling so proud i dont like thinking too much about track names. it doesnt mean much. i say this now, i undoubtedly will fall into the trap of rumours and lies as we progress slowly towards the next album -.- its like a fucking election campaign. all this build up simmering :S i hope as always, that the next album will be a great one, in the truest sense of the word 'great'. not same great as dm and wtsmg, but a new oasis sound building on dbtt, or tweaking it a bit at least that is a great album. i have this whole thing about 'great albums' you see. those timeless ones, that across time and genre.
