I had this discussion with a few friends recently. Wouldn't it be great if there was a two day festival devoted to Manchester music history? Just for shits and giggles, first night could have Buzzcocks and New Order (of course doing a plethora of Joy Division tunes) and second would have, again this is hypothetical, a reunited Smiths, reunited Stone Roses, and Oasis. Of course Inspirals and Mondays would be on the bill. Just food for thought and discussion, but I think it'd be cool.

It would be ace...but it would never happen. Who would headline?

I think New Order would have to headline the first night. Roses, Smiths, and Oasis would be touchy...Ian Brown probably wouldn't play before Noel. Plus, the whole issue of Morrissey doing solo stuff, same for Ian Brown, plus Johnny Marr and John Squire's sidestuff might come into play as well (although both The The and the Seahorses were shite). I just would love to see Bez one more time!!!

I saw Bez not so long ago at the launch of XFM Manchester, for the launch there was a world record attempt for most people shaking maracas. It was to 'Step On' and was led by Bez, here's a pic I took of my mate Tom with the legend himself.

Cheers mate!! Cool pic. I actually dig the new song "Playground Superstar". I just saw Ian Brown's performance from the Shockwaves...F.E.A.R. was good but his singing on "I Wanna Be Adored" was so-so.
