I found some fucking fantastic bands and albums that escaped me recently, HAIM is one such a band. This album, too, has been critically acclaimed: www.metacritic.com/music/days-are-gone/haim
I wanted to save this to listen to tomorrow, but I can't. It's infectious, so interesting, and as addicting as an album can get. I can't wait to get to the next track, not believing they can top the previous one. Wire has some bad ass things going on, let down by the Shania Twain chorus. Girls I thought Honey & I was going to bore me, but HAIM can't bore the listener. It's not possible. The dynamics keep it alive as it doesn't fall into the standard filler dross average bands have nightmares about. Don't Save Me sees us back in the shimmering 80s, done to perfection. Highlight. One of many. I just heard the 2 best albums of 2013, perhaps even stretching beyond that, in one night. I'm going to look forward keeping tabs on HAIM henceforth. Something truly special. Very strong album, dare I call it a classic.....? Chvrch and HAIM in one night? And with the likes of Blood Orange, Bombay bicycle Cub, and Paramore, and ----

Easy to make fun of Feldman now but he did have a string of great movies. Gremlins, Goonies, Stand By Me, and Lost Boys.

Great album. They remind me of a modern day Fleetwood Mac

Vern: Do you think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman? Teddy: What are you, cracked? Vern: Why not? I saw the other day. He was carrying five elephants in one hand! Teddy: Boy, you don't know nothing! Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman's a real guy. There's no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy. Vern: Yeah, maybe you're right. It'd be a good fight, though.

I actually met Cory Feldman once going back 4-5 years. It was at a Roger Waters performing the Wall at MSG. His hair was super long and jet black. He absolutely loved that my favorite line of his was "My father stormed the beaches of Normandy!". Sincerely!

I've seen them at London Calling in November 2012. They covered the Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac's song.

The album has the perfect closer, too. I could listen to this track for much longer. Ethereal.

I was surprised by how good their album was, wasn't really expecting much from it but I thought it was great, saw them live last year and they were really good.

You know what, I really like their album. A breath of fresh air. Heard a lot about them, must admit I bought their album second hand but I'm finding it infectious.

Pretty much, not their fault more their PR and record company pushing them as the next coming of Fleetwood Mac but really they are a mid afternoon Festival act to warm up the crowd act but i can't see them ever been a main headlining act. Unless they come out with a top class second album I doubt they last long as a the new "it" act. You can see why their company pushed them they are attractive girls and pretty confident in themselves as a band but something is missing for me, maybe the lack of substance or a really top class song. They got a a number one album in the UK and top 10 in the U.S seems the constant coverage in Magazines and TV has paid off but the second album will show us if they will be a long term commercial act.
