When they announced this remaster they mentioned all 3 remasters being released this year i just re-read Brian Cannon's statement about the remasters and Noel's solo album info. and it does say all albums to be re-released this year but that seems rather queer to me. 20th anniversary re-releases for all seems more appropriate and more democratic. Gracias.

I haven't checked the remasters in detail, I went straight to the rare ones in CD3. The string version of Whatever is amazing View AttachmentView AttachmentWhat country are using that from?

The hi-hats on Whatever sound a bit too loud. Everything else sounds good from the previews though. Looking forward to getting my copy sometime next week

i'm guessing all the remasters will be released on their 20th anniversaries... God bless. I agree, I know the original press release said this year but why make a big song and dance about DM being released for it's 20th Anniversary and then just release MG and BHN randomly; especially MG which is one of only a handful of albums in history to have a monumental culteral impact on an entire country. A 20th Year Anniversary edition makes much more sense and therefore means then can put more weight behind the promo. For selfish reasons I hope I'm wrong but its not like Noel/Oasis have said things are coming out only to be postponed or scrapped

Listening now, they've greatly improved the original mix without altering its true essence. It still sounds muddy, a bit messy, but clearer, especially drums. The bass is still nowhere to be heard though (edit: except on slide away)

God bless.

God bless. Yeah exactly, just release it in Feb next year or something and it's only a few months delayed. I know the album was released in October 95 but DM was released in August 94 and the anniversary edition is out in May so it's not exact. For the sake of a few months, they could really push a 20th Anniversary MG and it would carry a lot of weight. The marketing could be fantastic BHN is the problem for selfish reasons as thats the one I'm looking forward to the most and I'll be damned if I'm waiting another 3 years

I think as the series is called chasing the sun 94-97 and the album isn't definitely maybe 20th anniversary edition (and the fact it's coming out in may not August shows the are doing it to celebrate 20 years of oasis vs 20 years of each album.
I would agree that spacing over a year vs them all coming out this year would be better but 3 releases in 6 months should gain a bit if momentum for them.

Yeah exactly. It's not three distinct anniversaries. No reason for them not to all come out this year and don't know why people are suggesting otherwise.

I'm not saying they should or shouldn't be released in a year, I'm perfectly happy whatever happens but I think there should be something done to mark 20 years of one of the biggest albums in history and it would make sense in my eyes that it was the 3 disk version/deluxe box set. Purely from a marketing POV, a lot has been made of this DM release. The exhibition, 'lost' interviews in magazines, Bonehead saying more than he ever did during his time in Oasis etc; there's been plenty of time, effort and a 2/3 month build up in the media. A lot of it has been built around the 20th Anniversary, now I know the DM remaster is not officially a 20th anniversary release but a lot of publications of been writing about it as such. Now if both MG and BHN are to follow this year and if they are going to give as much focus promoting MG as they did DM, they'll have to start promoting immediately after DM is released. DM is my favourite Oasis album by a mile, but a MG re-release deserves it's own promotion on equal footing with what DM has been given. That album was a phenomenon. I fear that (not including Oasis fans) the general public will lose interest in more Oasis related promotion sooner or later and MG and BHN might slip relatively under the radar and not achieve the success they deserve. Alternatively if they were to wait another year for MG, they could make it another big event like this DM thing has been. Maybe even coincide with a Noel solo tour or something? Who wouldn't want another exhibition of height of band? The 'excess' years? That doesn't affect the true Oasis fans but I generally feel MG should have more, BHN doesn't really matter so much to the public As said I don't care either way but I can see why they would want to delay it if it came to that

Remastered albums don't matter to the public anyway. only fans will buy it. if they ever get new fans, it's because it's a fucking great album. only fans care about the remasters

Crazy.
