Beady Eye fans are TOTALLY hard-core. Absolutely I agree ...but I'm not being a dick or fesicious in any way I agree with you ,,,,but see the problem with that is the fans are ate the hardcore OASIS fNs who support anything Gallagher , like myself , I may not dig it like Oasis. But I'll promote it talk it up every chance I get ....the problem is the people outside the Oasis umbrella have not caught wind , or care , why they get zero buzz here ..there a flatline to all but the hardcore fan that happens to be a OASIS FAN IMO. And I'm not knocking it sux

Personally speaking I'd prefer they didn't play Oasis songs at all, but that's just my own preference, I'm not too bothered either way.
The problem with this board imo is that it is made up of the absolute hardcore. That doesn't represent the average fan who makes up the majority of the crowd at gigs. A lot of people on here know absolutely everything there is to know about even the most obscure b-sides, bootlegs and recordings, but the average fan doesn't. Calling for them to play Pass Me Down The Wine or Thank You For The Good Times is just ridiculous, the majority of gig attendees will be completely unaware of songs like that.
They've made the decision to play Oasis songs - they're obviously going to play the ones that will get the best reaction rather than the ones that were barely played or barely got a reaction when they were originally released. They play the gigs to please the people buying tickets - I challenge anyone to find any more than a handful at the gigs themselves who'd rather hear Boy With The Blues over Cigarettes and Alcohol

It's not embarrassing per se, but it is really strange that Liam feels perfectly happy to sing Noel songs whilst sticking to the 'We Don't Need Noel' thing. It just doesn't make much sense.

They seem to be mostly attended by hardcore fans and previous Oasis fans.

Ive never seen BE live and doubt I ever will. The chance of them coming to South Florida are slim to none. If they came to my town Id definitely want them to play Oasis songs since I dont care for either BE album. Id also prefer they play Noel ones because he obviously wrote the best ones. However if I have to hear RNRS played one more time I might push Liam off the stage.

I know what you mean, Beady Eye are definitely more for the Oasis fans, but as an example, out of the lads I go with, one would consider himself to be a big fan and also a big Oasis fan but knows only the album songs. Another could name about 5-6 Beady Eye songs and the mainstream Oasis songs but loves going to gigs and thinks they're a cracking live band. Neither had heard of the likes of Two of a Kind and World Outside My Room when they played them on the first tour and I doubt they'd be too enthusiastic about hearing A Bell Will Ring or Better Man, etc Obviously that's just my own personal experience but I don't think it'll be too far off the average

All their troubles began after they had started playing Oasis songs. Don't you think there is a magic behind it?

I agree, although not fully. If they want to play songs from Oasis' back catalogue, then they should be playing the songs they wrote, not Noel's. On top of it, how awesome would it be to hear a Ride or Hurricane #1 track somewhere in there?
That said, Oasis and Beady Eye have been known to do cover songs. That's alright by me.

Playing 2 songs that Liam has sung for 20 years isn't a big deal imo.
If Roger Daltrey did a solo show and played solo material for the whole set plus My Generation and The Kids Are Alright (written by Townsend) as a treat for the crowd, people wouldn't make a big deal of it.

It might be embarrassing or seem wrong to people who hear about the setlist or watch gigs back on youtube. But at the gig, you really don't care, at Warrington I wasn't annoyed or outraged when Rock n Roll star started, I was fucking enthralled! I thought I'd never get to hear that live again, it was amazing, same with Morning Glory. Liam's been singing someone elses songs his whole life, who cares what band name he uses while doing it!

I think that's a bad comparison. Daltrey never really tried to step out of Townshend's shadows the way that Liam is with Noel's. He's released a few albums here and there, but he never fancied himself a songwriter (why would he when his bandmate is one of the best songwriters in rock history?).

I loved his tribute tunes to moon "after fire " "under a raging moon ". Didn't Pete write them ? Those are tunes that SHOULD BE ON RADIO AND NEVER ARE

I always thought and I still think they should've played the Oasis songs they wrote. It was a natural choise, and would've given a better setlist during the DGSS tour. After a first tour with no Oasis songs, go for Oasis greatest hits it's a bit embarassing tbh.

What about Dave Davies then singing 'Tired of Waiting For You'...?
Seriously, get over it.

After a first tour with no Oasis songs, go for Oasis greatest hits it's a bit embarassing tbh. Agreed. I never understood the decision. They eschewed the Oasis songs when they needed them most. On the DGSS tour, they desperately needed 5-6 more reinforcements. Thank You For The Good Times, Guess God Thinks I'm Abel, Turn Up The Sun, Hung In A Bad Place and Songbird would have done nicely. They didn't need any Noel songs. On the BE tour, they've now got enough tunes-they don't need the Oasis tunes to sustain a solid set. But here they are playing Wonderwall. I guess they were convinced by someone (Scott Rodger?) that by playing the Oasis card, they'd draw in big crowds. But that hasn't happened, and they look way worse than they would have if they'd just stuck to their guns and stuck to Beady Eye tunes, or, at the least, just played their own songs from Oasis. I don't think they ever believed that 2 songs were ever gonna draw in big crowds. As been said several times on here 99% of bdi fans are oasis/Liam fans (they've not grown their fan base etc) So what's the harm with a bit of fan service to the few who actually do pay to see them tour? I for one never seen people at the gigs complaining (obv people might be) but the crowd seems very up for it so not really making them look bad. I also don't see how playing 2 extra bdi tracks (or gig being 2 tracks shorter) would've grown their fan base on their own merits, they play their best bdi tunes and non fans not interested / fan base hasn't grown I also believe If they wanted to grow admissions with casuals they would have played 7-8 oasis tunes and gone down that route.

The best songs I saw at the BE tour were "Morning Glory", "Rock'n'Roll Star" and "Cigarettes & Alcohol". (Best songs and best crowd while playing)
So I'm fucking fine with playing Noel songs!
I mean at their gigs are 95% Oasis fans and they are not fans of Liams songs, they are fans of Noels songs.

I just think it cheapens the Beady Eye product. I want to hear LAG Beady Eye songs first and foremost. If they dig into the Oasis bag of tricks, let it be LAG Oasis songs. Show some pride in the work you created. Not from the guy who walked out on the band and who you constantly rip all the time in the press and on Twitter. To run to his material, despite Liam being known as the singer of these songs, is kinda lame in my opinion. Beady Eye has some really good tunes and some really good Oasis LAG songs. Fucking play them.

Noel said he wouldn't ever do oasis songs associated with Liam, noel has always has said the reunion will never happen. So we have all these great songs that will never be heard live again. They showed pride and commitment by touring the whole first album with all brand new material and 1 cover that's is showing ultimate commitment to your product. Now 4 years after the split they are playing 2 oasis songs for the fans. I don't think that degrades their own output at all, just gives something back to their fans which are 99% made up of oasis fans.

Not sure if that is because of the younger fans on the forum or not but that is not a good sign for the band. It should be Beady Eye songs creating the buzz. Not Oasis songs we all have heard live a billion times since 1994.

Oasis will always create a buzz that's why noel still gets asked about a reunion every interview. Most people either like BdI or HFB (or both) but as a whole no where near what they feel about oasis. So when those songs are played 'the forum goes wild' cos that's the 80% of band they joined this forum for playing 2 songs they'd prob thought they'd never hear again. The fans do get excited for their music there's lots of people who got very excited by DGSS/BE albums bought all vinyls to get b sides, go to multiple gigs and love their output but as most BDI are oasis fans those songs will be the icing on the cake.

I know it's a bit off topic, but The Roller has really become a staple anthem at BE gigs. It draws such a great reaction, and also provides a great singalong. I think it would be harsh to say none of the BE songs get the same love as Noels do, because I think The Roller certainly does.
