It's generally agreed that the songs on BE are an improvement on those from DGSS. I've just watched the videos from DGSS era - all very nice videos indeed.
Fast-forward to BE.... We have Flick Of The Finger, where we see a fish going about its daily routine in a low-res, "arty" sort of way.
Second Bite Of The Apple shows the band playing a song while the cameraman was clearly taking great pleasure in using the coloured filters he'd just been loaned from the primary school round the corner.
Soul Love. Again the band play a song in a disinterested sort of way, before stopping, standing still and staring *artfully (*pronounced gormlessly) out of shot (who knows what was so mesmerising there, maybe Noel dropped by for a bit) until the ordeal ends.
The only redeeming factor is Shine A Light. Here, Liam happens to discover many many females, all of whom have mysteriously had all their clothes fall off. He also explored his parallel-life as a priest which he almost certainly turned down when he chose the rockstar route.
Don't get me wrong, I love the band and love their songs. I know the music should speak for itself and the videos should be irrelevant to our enjoyment of them, but I feel it reflects an all round lack of effort in promotion from whoever it was decided would be a competent management figure for Beady Eye.

they probably don't have a huge budget.
God bless.

Just look at Shakermaker, I doubt that one cost very much. I agree entirely, but Shakermaker has plenty of life and energy - two things that the BE videos were lacking I'm afraid.

I WANT MY MTV WITH THAT GENERATION ... scott1. Mate I'm probably in a minority ,but except for stand by me video l where I still don't know if the girl died or not , I think oasis videos were boring ,...cause they were about the music which I love about them ....comes as no suprise Liam and Noel both are not avant grade solo ...... One thing great about MTV then , you could chop out lines all night to new videos that were a novelty , or get stoned and find hidden meaning in them .....beats real world Wherever the fuck they are filming nowadays

Thankfully the songs on BE are great.

Oh I agree ,, why I always loved the oasis I don't give a fuck mentality ........sadly now that bdi are nowhere near oasis success wise , or Noel .for that matter .... videos need to be more commercial ........Noel not so much as he is more like weller he made the tunes that are legendary , he don't want to be a rock star anymore of it works it works , so Liam is in need of more video success to connect with the younger fan base they want .....IMO .....Noel is fine as is with his base again ....IMO ..... By Noel not wanting it , I mean he is comfortable with his accomplishments , you either like or not , he don't care ...bdi wants to be a factor , so the need to step,it up is there

Sadly Beady Eye don't have the luxury of such a large fanbase, so they could do with a video that really connects with the video-watching-people.

You dont really need a big budget nowadays for a great video, I'm no expert but I don't think a lot of money was put into videos like Champagne supernova or songbird..still 2 of my favourites which means the song automatically improves the video if its good enough.

Said something to the effect or "we'll walk, we'll play, but we don't do anything else".

You're right about Who Feels Love? but even then, someone decided they should walk around and play in a desert or wherever it was. I know Beady Eye may have been unable to afford to go to the desert - but even with no budget at all there's still plenty of places more interesting to film than a room.

Lennon2217 Mate I'm probably in a minority ,but except for stand by me video l where I still don't know if the girl died or not Don't know how to break this to you mate but think she's brown bread. Served her right for arguing with her sister so much that she didn't hear that motorbike coming.

I think "Flick of the Finger" was the best video^^. It had a weird but unique style to it. I really don`t like videos like "little by little" or stuff like that. More visual stuff. "The shock of the lightning", "Flick of the finger" stuff. Just band looking bored, sitting or walking around is .... fucking boring i think^^

Anybody can make a band stand in a room but that was genuinely baffling. There'll never be a video more nonsensical and exuberant than that, and at the time it was made it was really quite advanced - took something like 6 months to do.

Beady Eye need more subtile visual style videos for their songs. I would love them to go into a more darker direction. Hopefully andy will get back more to his shoegaze roots and discover the fuzz pedal again. Imagine The Jesus and Mary Chain style songs with Liam as a singer. Dark album cover and dark but simple videos.

Arctic Monkeys got big after their first two albums and made the third their darker effort, which did lose them a fair few fans. Thing is, they were being called 'the new Oasis' and were popular enough to make it work and pull through and retain fans.Whilst Beady Eye actually are 'the new Oasis', they lack a fanbase big enough to be as erratic as a complete change of style.

Becaues Oasis fans are mostly either "that sounds weird (not like oasis) and has no chorus" or "that sounds like they try to be Oasis". The best would be cancelling playing noel written songs and be more creative with stage settings, lightnigs, videos etc. they don`t need to be as big as Oasis, but I think if they would become more psychedelic like Primal Scream, The Warlocks etc. they have the chance to get into this fanbase of stoner and psychedlic fans, which is a great section for bands, because these people really are into songs, not pop songs which need clear strucutres etc.
