Don't forget Lennon2217?most in America thought they broke up,after BHN. So to them there overall body of work will be overlooked. They never were the mega mega all time band here , so I can't see it , to America they are WONDERWALL , supernova , dlbia , maybe live forever .....

Outside this forum and the country of England, I don't think the music world thinks much of Oasis after Morning Glory. They became more famous for fighting and slagging off other bands. I hate all the negative press they received between 2000 and 2009.

Im not really bothered by the bad press an comments they receive from people..most people nowadays dont know how to form their opinion, they hear something bad and they go along with it.
Truth is, Oasis' b-sides are better than most (if not every) band's songs nowadays, just because their first 2 albums were huge, doesn't mean the following were going to live up to the same expectations..they just peaked early thats all.

That's all well and good ...but YOUR poll is about hall of fame ( assuming you mean USA ) no way no how . For the reasons Lennon2217 and I have stated , they never had the impact here , they did in UK or world , many thought they were done after BHN .... I said this before NYC biggest radio stat ok did a interview with Noel asking why the reunion in 05 ! the people that vote in USA a - don't like there attitude B- don't think there relevant C - won't vote them in - because unlike the sex pistols or nirvana who changed music here in USA ...Oasis are considered a band that ripped off the Beatles , they're not liked , respected , or relevant to the assholes who matter in stupid things like rock hall of fame kiss took this long I don't even think rush is in yet ,those bands here piss on oasis in terms of airplay , popularity. So on .. Yes isn't in and there respected more ....no chance ..that is your poll right ? Reason I use those 2 bands is you say peaked early. Those 2 bands didn't last but had a impact. On the scene Oasis brief burst in USA did no such thing

If they are ever inducted, which as others have said is unlikely, they should turn it down anyway, like the pistols did.
Its just a load of nonsense. Corporate bollocks that has nothing to do with rock n roll anyway.

See. The thread says rock and roll hall of fame The poll says "should. "'. So it's for me it's a misleading poll.designed for the fans here like me who are hardcore and of course we believe that , why else would we waste our time here .Should they ?? Yes To me they should cause like bardes there last great band I thought , from topic thread " rock roll hall of fame ". ( America I presume ) you want opinions , and IMO they simply have zero chance that's a fact .... They didn't change the way Americans dressed , cut there hair ,,,,there music was not considered groundbreaking here like nirvana , they always were / are considered a BEATLE rip off band so no they won't get a chance , and there bad press buries them .. However to me of course they belong ....

The misleading is the thread says rock and roll hall of fame. The poll says should ...... If the thread said should I wouldn't have bothered because your asking OASIS madferit a obvuous question why I'm the only no vote , I thought you were asking if they will make it not should ,,,of course the biggest oasis forum will say they should ! But they won't in America ..... Not knocking you. But the threads title makes to look like a serious discussion . Not a poll to pander to us zealots who of course will say yes they should ... Sorta like me starting a poll in the ton Brady fanclub. Is Tom Brady best qb ? What do you think the answer will be ......that's all

Just because you like a band doesn't mean you need to be biased..and a lot of members on this board aren't biased and give their honest opinion

.and a lot of members on this board aren't biased and give their honest opinion I now wish you a good stay here ...you obviously enjoy starting polls to get the cookie cutter responses if you think a lot here give honest opinions on Oasis , your nuts , we are zealots who are biased you may get a few who are unbiased enjoy your polls and your comments , I at first thought you were serious when you first got on here , but when I told you to read back on past quotes from members to get the answers to such obvious questions you posed I shoulda known ....I have no use for you here so ill block and let you ask these Assinine polls questions that are blatantly aimed at getting the desired response. Or you just like to ask obvious questions to the others who can't see thru your shit .. Lata Hears a poll ...why does allingoodtime start polls that have obvious answer A- he generally is curious B- he has no clue C- he likes to start polls D- he wants obvious answers I'll leave it to you he's a waste of time to me . Bash all u like , your blocked , shoulda did it long ago

You're meant to be a grown up..why don't you act your age, stop trying to piss me off and leave me alone..you clearly don't understand English very well since you always misinterpret what I say. The solution is simple, I'll create a poll, you can ignore it. I don't respect anything you say since its clearly always trying to troll others. stay away from my posts do me a fucking favour..and get a life!

The only movie I can think of that featured SCYHO was the Butterfly Effect. A movie nobody has probably watched since 2003. Believe me, in USA, TSOTL got way more exposure and airplay.

Scyho was in both butterfly effect and made of honor .. OST never really had any impact since mid 90s (or a tarintino movie) when songs were there to promote the film not the other way round..
Tho adverts still push tracks massively. Even last year icona pop being on samsung ads massively raised their profile from nothing to world wide

Yes, and they have a better shot than most think. Oasis actually have a very good case to make it in.
Some go by the theory that if the Smiths aren't in, then Oasis won't get in. I say that could be extremely faulty reasoning. The difference between the Smiths and Oasis is impact in America.
1.) Usually you must have at least one critically acclaimed album. Oasis has two, Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory. Yes, the general public know them more for Morning Glory, but the general public isn't voting. If the general public voted then the Stooges and the Velvet Underground wouldn't be in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Definitely Maybe will be counted as a critically successful album for them and will strengthen their case.
2.) Commercial Success. Whats the Story Morning Glory. What can be more commercially successful? Not to mention they also hit #2 with BHN and #5 with Dig Out Your Soul. Giving them three Top 5 albums. Along with the big hit: Wonderwall. When you include Live Forever (a song that even Pitchfork says is brilliant), Champagne Supernova, and Don't Look Back in Anger, all big hits on the Modern Rock charts, then they've pretty much sewn up commercial success.
3.) Impact. They were the biggest British Band of their generation by a wide margin. They dominated. They were also the only Brit Pop band to truly make a sizable impact in the states. Other than Radiohead, what other British band has been as enduring since the 90's? I have a hard time believing the hall of fame committee will shut out an entire generation of British band music from the hall. It's never happened before. Usually at least two get it. In this case: Radiohead and Oasis.
4.) Lastly, influence. I don't think anyone can deny Oasis' influence on music. For all their squabbling there are too many artists that would not exist without them. Whether it's Coldplay, the Arctic Monkeys, the Killers, etc (mind you, all big artists), their influence is undeniable.
Oasis has an extremely strong case to make it. Will they be first ballot? Probably not. But they'll get in. It'll just take a bit of time.
