enjoy this rare post, a have a few points a) why do you silly yanks use words like "tool" is just makes you look stupid to the other 5.75 billion people on the plant, muppets b) its a chart, of course your not going to agree with it, you should be more annoyed about the inclusion of artists such as the kaizer cheifs, robbie williams and eminim, than you should be about the exlusion of the brothers gallagher c) the song that i voted for, and the song that deserved to win, won, so a little bit of faith resored in my fellow man, and indeed women d) great minds think alike, me and Noel voted for the same song, One - U2, as anyone who reads the times will know, so thats about 3 people on this board, tut tut e) live4evr - champions league? you must be fuckin sickened, throwing us to the dogs, then jumping on the bandwagan after they results changed, tut tut, but you are young, american, and hopefully will pull your head from your rectuim for long enough to learn f) im just rambleing, but how much you must have missed me, ill be back, but only after i become a twat, or the rest of the board catches up with me lets hope the same smilies still work ;d g) eyes open is by far and away the best album of the year, i told you so ive forgotten the next letter and cant be bothered singin the song into myself) happy easter to all, and ill see you all soon, but not too soon

and heres my final point, and its a damn good one too: you CAN sing songs but you CANT sing music (you can HUM music though, because it mocks the sound, but how the hell can you sing when theres no words?) so a quick peep, the swamp song, the cage, fuckin' in the bushes.... any colour you like, on the run, the great gig in the sky ( see Dark side of the moon), overture, underture, sparks (see Tommy) are'nt songs but music cos they don't have lyrics? I'm having such a laugh..... I think most people in the world would agree those are songs and not music

posh ur absurd...granted u were drunk but the dictionary is a fact of what a word means. you cant argue it. its set in stone. -- DEBATABLE: Military War is bad FACT: Military War is violent DEBATABLE: music and songs are nice to listen too FACT: songs have words, music is the sound next you'll be saying that encyclopedias are wrong too dude, you can believe what you want....and so can i....but atleast i backed up my answer right now all you have is an opinion, i have substantial evidence which proves your opinion wrong

"Is it worth the aggrevation to find yourself a job when theres nothing worth working for?"
"I'm not saying right is wrong, its up to us to make the best of all the things that come our way. Because every thing thats been has passed, the answers in the looking glass. Theres four and twenty million doors on lifes endless corridor."
"Maybe I will never be, all the things that I'd like to be, now is not the time to cry, nows the time to find out why."
"Some might say theres no such thing as heaven, go and tell it to the man who lives in hell."
"I'm at the crossroads, waiting for a sign. My life is standing still, but I'm still alive."

"I wanna get high but I really can't take the pain, cause it'll blow away my soul like a hurricane. Like a one man band clappin in the pourin rain, I don't know where I'm going or from where I came."
"Your the outcast, Your the underclass, but you don't care, cause your living fast"

"A police car and a screaming siren, A pnuematic drill and ripped up concrete, A baby waiting and stray dog howling, The screech of brakes and lamplights blinking, That’s entertainment.
A smash of glass and the rumble of boots, An electric train and a ripped up ’phone booth, Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat, Lights going out and a kick in the balls, That’s entertainment.
Days of speed and slow time mondays, Pissing down with rain on a boring wednesday, Watching the news and not eating your tea, A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls, That’s entertainment.
Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning, Opening the windows and breathing in petrol, An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard, Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays, That’s entertainment.
Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes, Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume, A hot summers’ day and sticky black tarmac, Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were faraway, That’s entertainment.
Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight, Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude, Getting a cab and travelling on buses, Reading the grafitti about slashed seat affairs, That’s entertainment."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
That didn't win, there's the real travesty. Pick any line from it.

When you write a song by composing the "music" first, then all you are doing by adding words is SINGING TO THE MUSIC you dick. It's a stupid fucking argument anyway.
And by using a dictionary as your source as an argument you are using the same book that classifys the word "bootylicious" as a word because of a fucking Destiny's Child song.

And you may laugh while you sit there Sipping your champagne And they all laugh at your despair Sniffing your cocaine
true perfection has to be imperfect
Little by little we gave you everything you ever dreamed of, and little by little the wheels of your life have slowly fallen off
PS the human voice is considered an instrument, what about opera, its called opera music not opera songs, not to mention accoplello or wtf that is, sure its sound but so is the voice...and the word tool is a good word, people just overuse it now

My favourite Oasis lyric that hasn't been mentioned yet is "The sun will shine on you again..." from A Bell Will Ring. Post number 1 and counting

Favourite Oasis lines:
"Is it worth the aggravation / To find yourself a job, when there's nothing worth working for?"
"Day by day there's a man in a suit who's gonna make you pay / For the thoughts that you think and the words they won't let you say"
"Strangle my hope and make me pray / To a God I've never seen but who I betray"
"Maybe you're the same as me / We see things they'll never see"
"Here's a thought for Everyman / Who tries to understand / What is in his hands"
"I never did sing, I wish I could / I never could pray 'cause it's just no good"

"i only wanna see the light that shines behind your eyes"
"day by day there's a man in a suit who's gonna make you pay for the thoughts that you think and the words they won't let you say"
"take that look from off your face you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out"
"stand tall, stand proud every beginning has broken its promise i'm having trouble just finding my soul in this town"
