Agreed . I just meant. If we took masterplan SOTSOG HC and merged. It woulda been a great double ...and I agree DBTT. Coulda been better but it's generally considered there best since first 3 by average fan and media. Your right , I was just GOIN on 97-02, Well considering DBTT is competing against the likes of SOTSOG, HC and DOYS, I'm not surprised it's got the rep of being the "best Oasis album since the first 3". That's like dominating AAA baseball or Europa League. Can't argue that agreed ... It definatly coulda been a contender with those tweaks you said

the party line around here is to diss Heathen Chemistry and praise songs like 'Let's All Make Believe'... i've actually come around to understanding the Heathen Chemistry negativity....it is pretty boring, safe, etc. but there's some good songs on there. still don't understand the 'Let's All Make Believe' love...but whatever. here's a good example of Heathen Chemistry's commercial appeal: my sister really likes Heathen Chemistry...my sister has terrible taste in music, like worse than gdforever's tastes outside Oasis-related things. just kidding, gdforever! go Canada! Thanks. I can't understand the 'Born on a different cloud love'... pretty boring song.

I cannot vote on this. All of their albums have merit. There is nothing wrong with BHN, HC has some excellent material on it, SOTSOG was different and sophisticated in parts. I can't believe someone voted for DBTT? ??

Be Here Now. They should taken a step back, had 3 or 4 years off after Knebworth and came back with a new view on things, rather than diving head first into BHN with those half-arsed songs.

True and Noel said he lost the desire to write after WTSMG and it showed to a certain extent..even though the songs post MG are great they never really reached the quality of that album.

I can't believe the amount of criticism directed at BHN. When that album came out I played it more than MG and DM. It has all the raw aggression of DM and the classy feel of MG. There are some top notch tunes on it: Be Here Now, Fade In Out, Don't Go Away, It's Gettin Better (Man). I heard the songs were already written prior to MG anyway so whether he could write or not was not an issue.

BHN has some great songs without a doubt, but they could have used some editing ie a bit shorter

I don't have a problem with the length of BHN. In fact its extremely good value at over 1 hour long. There is no way All Around The World and Gettin Better Man could have been shorter.
And I love the intro to Do you know what I mean.

There are alternate versions to all around the world where its less than 7 minutes long and it sounds better tbh. Same for IGBM

I don't mind them all as they are, having shit songs (I.e All In The Mind!) makes you appreciate the good ones even more.

Be Here Now all the way. The songs would have been much better if they took a break first and then started recording it a couple of years later after the Morning Glory tour had finished.

Heathen Chemistry.
Imagine if they'd waited until 2002 to return, five years of waiting and then they come back with this dark LP4:
STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS (2002) 1. Fuckin' in the Bushes 2. Go Let it Out 3. Who Feels Love? 4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 5. The Hindu Times (Demo Arrangement) 6. Gas Panic! 7. Where Did it All Go Wrong? 8. Little by Little 9. Let's All Make Believe 10. Roll it Over
