Flashbax and The Fame are two of the worst songs Noel's written (well, of the ones that made it past the demo stage).
The Heathen Chemistry B-sides are the strongest, aside from anything pre-BHN.

Eh, I like The Fame and Flashbax. Granted, they're VERY derivative and have some dodgy lyrics. But I still find them pretty enjoyable. Truth to be told, the b-sides since MG have been pretty hit and miss. BHN had two fantastic ones (Stay Young, Going Nowhere), and the rest were enjoyable if not amazing. (I Got) the Fever would have been one of their best if it weren't so poorly produced; same goes for My Sister Lover. SOTSOG had some good b-sides but aside from Let's All Make Believe and One Way Road, they all sounded unfinished. Which they were, since most were just the demos thrown onto disc. HC had some very good ones - Idler's Dream, Shout it Out Loud and the rest were pretty decent too. DBTT's are just dreadful, aside from Eyeball Tickler (Pass Me Down the Wine is alright). But I guess that's okay since even in the UK people don't really buy singles any more.

I thought Carry Us All was good too.
One of the things that made the DM / MG b-sides good was you got more in those days. It was pretty much 2 new songs plus a cover / live track on the early singles.
Since BHN days bands have been restricted to 3 songs on a single because people started getting silly and putting 7 or 8 songs on a disc and selling it as a single in an effort to gain chart position. I agree though that HC era was a fantastic return to form for b-sides and just as good if not better than the early stuff. DBTT has been pretty poor.

What I want to know is, if the new B-sides are the best of the non-album tracks (from the 60 that Noel claimed they had) then what the fuck did they throw away?

well i dont think that the b-sides from DBTT were the better ones besides the ones that made the album. because "the boy with the blues" is supposed to be good and so is "lord don't slow me down". i think he's prolly saved up quite a few of the decent ones that were suppose to be part of the double album and he's gonna see what he and the rest of the band writes bewtween here and the time to record. not to mention "stop the clocks". i reckon the next album is gonna be really good. and i know people say that after every oasis album....but it sure looks like it's promising.
- cheers !

I'd say Oasis B-Sides consume about 50% or more of all my music listening.

Was '.......weight.... on my shoulders' a b-side?
I thought it was from the 'Goal' movie soundtrack.

i love full on, flashbax, the fame....i also like be here now. its messy, its noisy and its fun to listen too. they arent my absolute favourite but i like it for what they are. some of my favourite b sides are from hc - shout it out loud and idlers dream.
from dbtt i really like pass me down the wine, its a great b side track, not an album song but really good in its own right. jsut got this laid back feel to it which i like. and not many people seem to think too much of it, but i dig wont let you down. however, sitting here in silence on my own is painful to listen to -.-
