I think Live Forever because it got played a lot on MTV UK and that made everyone notice them. It also promoted the album very well.

Agreed, I think its one of those songs like Hey Jude..a song who almost everyone knows, a song which only comes around once in a blue moon

Yeah I suppose Wonderwall was the one that sent them critical mass but I think Live Forever was the one that showed them to be more than just a new 'indie' band.

The interesting thing about Wonderwall is that it sold over a million copies even though it was on the album which was selling millions of copies at the same time. People must have been buying both!
