Ladies have been grunting since Andrea jaeger in 79-80 .... Seles grunted louder than them all the difference is the michrophones on the court are better , back in the 70 s you didn't hear it l you barely heard the arguments . Mics were put thanks to Johnny Mac. ( McEnroe ). Everything today is overhyped

Sadly her shoulder surgery sidetracked a carear that coulda gave Serena fits , she destroyed Serena when Serena was in her prime and no1. With a wide serve that Serena had no answer for , but her shoulder problems have made her a accident waiting to happen on serve ...yet she still won a carear grand slam |

In fact Seles got so fed up with people talking of her grunts she tried to stop. She could not. At Wimbledon in 91 she tried to not grunt at all and lost 6-1 6-1 in finals to Graf ...was it the no grunting ? Or fact she sucked on grass ?? We will never know. But the stabbing had ZERO TO DO WITH HER GRUNTING
Edit my mind is sharp,but a bit off 6-2 6-1 in 92. Sorry

Probably best ever group .... What gets me Is we will never know who was better ,, Seles or Graf .....Graf had the better all court game and on grass was far superior , but Seles had the edge on clay .... Hard courts was a tossup. They met in 3 finals in grand slams before the stabbing. Seles one w all timer 10-8 in final set on clay. Graf destroyed her 3 weeks later at WIMBELDON. Then in 93 Seles won a 3 set Australian final. Problem is and whst people forget is graf at that time was not in top form , her father was disgraced and going to jail and she was being crucified in the German press and burned out after dominating tennis from 87-92 ....the chapter was set fot the greatest rivalry the sport ever saw better than Martina / Chris. Because graf/ Seles was so much more competitive ,,,,every won the majority of her matches early. Martina later. Look it up. There numbers are even but they both took years at a time with dominating the other ....this was a teal rivalry then that happened ..,,,,,shame ....

Me personally. I give Graf the edge over Seles because she was the better all court player but by a whisker. Graf and Serena are tops.
Martina was a choker. Tracy Austin gave you the blueprint to beat Martina in 81 , hang with her , I watched Martina since 75 she was the best front runner ever , but in a tight 3 setter she lost way more than she won Also we are so quick to judge our pro ball players but look at the body change between navritolava after the 81 finals at the us open to tracy Austin them look at her from 82-89. !!!! Nobody said steroids then. EXCEPT ME. She trained with nancy Lieberman and had a notorious doctor Her body changed drastically and she is another who got better as she got older .....#smokinggun
