"Harlem Shake" Tops List of Most-Googled Songs of 2013, World Dies Some More
Dear everyone rooting for the complete spiritual decline of the planet Earth,
We wanted to be the first to congratulate you on a piece of really great news: Of all the songs people Googled in the year 2013, none were more popular than âHarlem Shake.â Thatâs rightâhuman beings across this vast sphere were more curious about âHarlem Shakeâ than any other piece of music, and the ultimate destruction of all personal dignity in is right on schedule!
Google released the list this week, using data culled from 72 countries, and if âHarlem Shakeââs big victory didnât convince you that weâll all be festering in godawful art within a decade, youâll be thrilled to know that âWrecking Ballâ by Miley Cyrus came in a strong second. Almost as good, right?! Hereâs the full top 10:
1. Baauerâs âHarlem Shakeâ 2. Miley Cyrusâ âWrecking Ballâ 3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewisâ âThrift Shopâ 4. Lordeâs âRoyalsâ 5. Adeleâs âSkyfallâ 6. Jay Zâs âTom Fordâ 7. Jay Zâs âHoly Grailâ 8. Robin Thickeâs âBlurred Linesâ 9. Katy Perryâs âRoarâ 10. Imagine Dragonsâ âRadioactiveâ
If youâre interested in examining other ways in which humanityâs integrity has withered to a near-fatal state, check out the full database of Google entertainment trends, which includes the most-searched concert acts (Thirty Seconds to Mars wins, somehow), memes (Grumpy Cat), dance moves (âGangnam Styleâ), gifs (âtwerk gifâ), and other categories that not only imply the end of millennia upon millennia of human evolution, but actually suggest a swift reversal of the process.
Thanks as always for your continued interest in the utter destruction of the better angels of our nature, and look out for next monthâs newsletter. Weâre thinking it will probably be a series of emojis communicating the news that nobody in the world has bought a book in weeks.
themasterplanet: A Northern Soul by The Verve! My second favourite album by them. I love the atmosphere of it, itâs very dreamy and melancholic and dark. It holds many memories for me and I think thatâs partly responsible for why I love it so much.

Bring It On Dan: I have so much shit on an old hard drive somewhere but I just cannot find it. Nothing 'out there' but probably 200 gigs or so. I can't remember the name of the site that had all the gigs listed and sources for loads of gigs next to it? I remember RKID 003.
