Especially since the "newness" of DBTT has long past, it's time to go back... For ME: ...Be Here Now has recently received HEAVY rotation in my Car CD player... I know it's long.... I know some of it is overproduced... But I just don't get why Noel hates on it so much... Seriously folks, there is A LOT of good stuff here, although I know I'm preaching to the choir on that point... Even though My Big Mouth is overproduced and skippable, it has its bright spots... Liam singing the line "where angels flyyyy".... HEAVENLY. Magic Pie is great, (although it could have been shorter), I think if Noel recorded it tomorrow it would be 4 minutes 30 seconds tops... Stand By Me: One of the best Oasis tunes EVER. Nothing that they could record nowadays could touch it. I Hope I Think I Know: Don't get why nobody likes this one. Underrated tune, "You'll nevere forget my nammmmeeeeeee"... C'mon! CLASSIC LIAM! Great to sing along to! Fade In/Out: Don't like it. Really the only one I skip on the album. Too "Bon Jovi'ish" for me. Be Here Now: Again, UNDERRATED. Always picks me up when I'm feelin down. All Around The World: Some say too long, I say just right. This is the only song on the album that should be 7,8, minutes long. Love how Liam just keeps going at the end... In closing: I'm playing BHN more now than I did when it came out! For the next tour I think they should DEFINITELY put a couple of songs from the album on the setlist (although I know they won't)... BE HERE NOW is Oasis at their peak... Pure, Loud, Arrogant IN YOUR FACE ROCK N ROLL... Liam's voice was still in top form, not yet showing any signs of wear and tear... If it was a bit shorter, and stripped down a bit in some spots, it would be right up there with WTSMG... Maybe if they didn't rush putting it out?... The more I listen, the more I like. BHN is a fucking classic.

Be here now is a fantasic record, I agree. I love all the songs, especially I hope. I think I know, Girl in the dirty shirt, and Dyou know what I mean. Brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed Heathen Chemistry (out of rotation for a while) as well while driving to the most recent shows.

Totally agree lads. Be here now has always been my favourite album. I have been listening to knebworth and loch lomand alot latey and listening to my big mouth and its getting better man, both them songs at all the gigs in summer of 96 were brillant. I know it is not exactly a come back single but to me d'you know what i mean is the best come back single ever. The song and especially the video are just brillant. I remember getting up at 7 am because bbc radio 1 were having the first play of that single and the 3 b sides too.
I think the girl in the dirty shirt is great and so is i hope i think i know.
Rock on BE HERE NOW

I think that Be Here Now is the best album they've ever made, but back to topic,i recent picked up SOTSOG for $5.99 and i forgot that its really a good album. There's some duds but its overall a good effort and actually sounds fresh when you hear the crap on the radio nowadays.

I can't really say i have rediscovered any of their albums recently, because i'm sort of bored of listening to them now. Just need a break to listen to some other bands, genres etc..
I guess i have listened to HC a little more recently because that was the one oasis album that i never listened to regularly. It's not as bad as i thought it was, and you can say i have rediscovered 'little by little'. I love that track now and i do believe it's quite underrated as a single.

I don't see the argument for songs being too long honestly I prefer longer songs over short ones it gives more room for creativity, now gratit if they're just singing the choris a bunch of times that's not alright, but I think I would rather listen to a nine minute song with many musical interludes then a one minute song with a bunch of lyrics shuved in your face and then it's over.
To sum it all up I like Be Here Now

Be Here Now is my favorite album too. Every time I listen to it my spirits are raised. D'You Know What I Mean?, Magic Pie, Be Here Now, It's Getting Better Man, and especially My Big Mouth I think are underrated. The only thing I don't like is the AATW Reprise as the last track, I skip it every time. Other than that, I think its my favorite album of all time. (A hair above WTSMG)

i think BHN is the album that has/had so much potential but the songs were long and production sucked. It's full of "if this song was this and that" statements, but the bottom line was they were'nt. It's Getting Better Man is an awesome song and so is Girl in The Dirty Shirt....they always get me up...and of course Stand By Me. But the album i usually rediscover is HC. There's something about it that i like but cant put a finger on it. i LOVE Little By Little and Born on a Different Cloud is so underrated.
- cheers !

i have a love/hate relationship with be here now.
sometimes i listen to it and i think "why do you have to sing 'its getting better man' 34 times?"
other times i listen to it and really get a kick out of it.
strange.

Great replies everyone... thanx for taking the time to respond... I enjoy reading them!!! I can only imagine that oh, say 10 years from now, we'll be looking back at *DBTT* and saying, "WOW what a great fucking record that was"
