i like the melodies of some her songs but as like most female artists i don't care for the lyrical content which is generally about love and/or how awful men are. and like Lennon2217 and eva, i would love to see her naked. God bless. |

I found her insufferable. I ussually do with "artists" who are thrown in my face as the best thing ever by the media, like her, Lana del Rey (sorry, Bruno  ) or anything that comes out of American Idol/The Voice/name any other crappy competition show. There are many talented female (pop, if you want) artists who write their own songs and sing with more passion and soul than her. Laura Marling, Rachael Yamagata, KT Tunstall, Lisa Hannigan... Taylor Swifts latest album is great it's on a different level to her previous work, you should give it a go. |

Seeing as I go to college in Nashville, it's fairly common for people to run into her, but sadly I haven't even though she lives maybe 2 miles away from me. She's a smart girl, she's slowly taken over the world. She writes a good amount of her stuff which is great. Sure her songs are a little basic (in melody, chords, lyrics, subject matter), but they are well crafted, hopefully she'll mature into more of a singer songwriter as she ages. Probably one of the best pure-pop melodists of the past 10 years.
And to be completely honest (some of) her albums and her songs are better than a lot of Beady Eye's stuff, but I will say she can be annoying with her bruised heart and pen filled with venom, from time to time.

Just downloaded her 2010 effort, "Speak Now". Yeah, I'm going to continue going back in downloading her albums. It's absolutely epic. We all respect AllMusic reviews on here, and look how they rate her albums.
