For me, it's SCYHO. It's an okay song, but I don't think it's anywhere near the best Oasis ballads. It's one of the most shamelessly derivative things they've done, a retread of earlier, better songs, as though someone were just following textbook guidelines on how to write an Oasis ballad. And the production is poor - just very overblown and bland sounding. And has anybody realized that the melody is almost completely borrowed from Slide Away and Don't Go Away?
Now that that's done, what Oasis song do you think is overrated?
Oh, and don't say Wonderwall. Personally, I don't think the song is overrated at all; it's just that overexposure has really dulled its impact on all of us. But since it's their most popular song, so many people list it as overrated. So if you're going to say Wonderwall, say something else, otherwise this whole thread would be filled with people responding "Wonderwall".

i don't think there have been many except wonderwall.
i really like supersonic but i think people go a bit over board with how good it really is.

I don't like Liams voice on slide away because it doesn't have any growl. The song is ok but the DM version is weak. The live versions are much better.

I'm going with ... fuck me, I can't think of any besides Wonderwall. And yes you were right with what you said about it, but I just don't like the tune..makes me the oddball I guess

I'll say DYKWIM.... it's a good song but imo it's not one of the top 5 songs on BHN. many people want to here this live again but i'd rather listen to Stand By Me, I hope I thin I know, All Around the World, It's gettin' better man or Don't Go Away.... other than taht I don't think there are many overrated oasis songs
And someone already got it right about Wonderwall. it's a magical song but overexposure and the many pricks that know the words to it simply ruin a bit of the magic of the song to us harcore fans

I would say Bring it On Down.I know a lot of ppl like it and it sounds punk,but i prefer the Be Here Now era stuff,proper guitar solos and stuff,not just 3 chords(gonna get beat up for this!!!)

i dont listen to bring it on down much... it doesnt really get to me
i agree about SCYHO, loads of fans say it's their fave on HC but imo it's pretty boring and i've rarely got a patience to listen to it to the end
DYKWIM is quite boring too

Agree about Wonderwall...
I don't think there are really any songs that are overrated, I like them all. But if I had to pick one, I guess it would be Shakermaker.

i like all the songs, including stop crying your heart out. i dont listen to wonderwall much, but every now and then you do and it feels magical again, but its not the best oasis track by far. as someone said, overexposure is one thing, that doesnt necessarily equate to being overrated.
i love liams vocals on slide away, i dont like the growl so much but cant do anything much about it now

the most overrated oasis song HAS to be The Hindu Times. i can't believe how many people like this song. it sounds so fake to me and the guitar riff is kinda lame. people talk about SCYHO as being an outline for an oasis ballad....well i feel THT sounds like someone trying to follow guidelines for an oasis rock song but failed. To me it seems like they were trying to re-create Rock 'n' Roll Star but did a poor job. but that's just my opinion.

I'd go along with Supersonic. Not that I don't absolutely love it, but it's never been one of my real favs. I think Roll It Over is over-rated, can't stand it.  |

I dont like "who feels love?" and i think its over-rated

Maybe a controversial one this (in fact, I know it is) but I've always thought Don't Look Back In Anger was one of their most overrated tunes.
Its riff was nicked from Imagine, the lyrics are a mish-mash of utter gibberish (Liam famously came up with the 'Sally' bit completely randomly) and it gets a tad boring after a while.
I'm sure everyone will disagree though...

For me its "Rock 'n' Roll Star" hands down. I know it played a huge role in defining the band early on, but its really not that great of a song, imo.
