I was against them playing Oasis songs but if they're going to play them I'd rather they played the ones people want to hear - Live Forever, Morning Glory, Supersonic, etc - than the collective bag of shit that they wrote. I know a lot of people have quite diverse tastes on here, but there'd be a mass exodus to the bar if they tried to play Pass Me Down The Wine or Thank You For The Good Times. Turn Up The Sun they could get away with, Songbird definitely, but why bother when you see the reaction Live Forever gets? It is a bit odd for Gem and Andy to be playing songs they had nothing to do with, but you have to balance that out with the alternatives (assuming they're going to play Oasis songs) - Oasis classics were almost entirely pre-2000 I think it really too rude how you talk about their effort. People wouldn`t storm to the bar, cause people, who like Andy Bell, Gems or Liams songwriting are going to a Beady Eye concert, which mainly consists songs written by them. like you said different opinions are out there, but I really would love the moment when suddenly no one expected it "Turn up the sun" or "I believe in all" starts playing instead of the songs, that were played on every god damn tour. Personally I`m pretty pissed of, that Beady Eye promised obscure tunes and now plays 4 of the best known tunes of the best known Oasis records....

If Beady Eye mixed in:
- Turn Up The Sun - Eyeball Tickler - Boy With The Blues
I'd be a happy camper.

It would be history, that's for sure.
I honestly wouldnt mind to hear 20 min versions of those songs but it would be nice to have a full gig.

This board isn't an accurate representation of the people who go to gigs though, it consists of the hardcore who obsess over every detail. I'm probably the only one of my mates who has even heard of I Believe In All. In my experience, there was a noticeable drift towards the bar during Shine A Light and Soon Come Tomorrow, and one of those was even a single. I'm not sure Beady Eye really attract too many people who 'like Andy, Gem or Liam's songwriting' THAT much, they go because they're a good live band who'll put on a good show and have a few good songs. In fairness, it was the same for both Noel and Oasis, it's hardly something that is unique to Beady Eye.

Noel has a right to play them as he wrote them. Liam has a right to play them because his vocals defined them. You can't exactly say the same about Andy and Gem

Fuckin hell it's 2 songs. The 'right'... Who cares!? Most people at the gigs won't know A Bell Will Ring, or even Guess God Thinks I'm Abel for that matter!
Just enjoy the 7 minutes of classic oasis and the rest of the gig being Beady Eye. (Yes they finished with a cover, bands have done that for years).

So Johnny Cash shouldn't have covered "Hurt" because Trent Reznor wrote it? Frank Sinatra didn't write "New York New York". As memory serves me, "If I Can Dream" was written specifically for Elvis' voice. Andy and Gem are musicians; they're probably happy playing anything as long as they've got guitars in their hands. As far as the songs go, Noel did the carpentry but it was Liam who brought most of the songs to life (or, put another way, Noel built the cat litter box and Liam pooped in it). BDI should cover "Don't Look Back in Anger". And Noel has every right to cover "Songbird" if he should ever want to.

I think Beady Eye could go on well, if they would finally distance themselves from Oasis. I think the two OAsis songs really do not fit in with the rest of the set right now. it's just my opinion, but they should not focus on the Oasis fan crowd, they should built up a Beady Eye fancrowd. people love nostalgia, thats the problem. I would choose "Flick of the finger" or "soul love" live played by Beady Eye ten times over the usual Oasis classics played by them.

2 songs out of the whole set! I really don't get what the big deal is. Noel's was half half.

Noel wrote the songs. if Beady eye would play songs they wrote with Oasis, everybody would be happy (I fucking HOPE) I wish they wouldnt play Noel's songs cos they don't 'fit' with the whole set, as that denny Crane already said Boys With The Blues, BOADC.. even Soldier On. that would fit. but at the same time.. it's 10 minutes out of an hour and a half set.. so who cares

I know exactly what's being talked about I just don't think it's as big a deal as people make out. Turn Up The Sun at an oasis gig would be bar time for most people, never mind at a beady eye gig.
If they played half beady eye and half songbird, turn up the sun, a bell will ring, soldier on, better man etc people would still moan.
I think they've been brave to start with no oasis songs for first album tour and now adding just 2 to the set, baring in mind beady eye are pretty unpopular, is admirable!
They could of thrown the towel in after the first album and started to play half oasis songs in the set, whether that's Noel written, liam written, gem or Andy. But they haven't.
I won't say any more on it anyway we've all got different opinions, my point is made!

in my honest opinion ... if people can`t enjoy a concert, which lasts 80 minutes without going to a bar, to buy overpriced beer.... wtf?! you go to a concert! enjoy the show, the people, going to a bar seem not even to try to enjoy the songs they don`t know that much.
Its pretty easy and lazy to fall in love with songs, that everybody around you enjoys, but I bet some folks could fall in love with LAG songs too, if they would focus on the concert and not on the fucking beer bar...
Didn`t want to attack somebody here, but I never understood the people, who pay 35 pounds or 50 euros or something for a concert ticket and then really have to miss or just not really listen to some songs, because they have to buy a beer. I would buy it before the concert begins or something like that, but I would have never left my position, especially if I had the chance to be in front of the stage, to get myself a drink, because I`m always thinking "you cant be that thirsty, that I miss some of the moments of the concert I`ve paid money for." I want every little bit of every song, when I pay 50 euros. I would have kicked my own arse if I would have left my front row position during the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds concert.

I think some people just like to be attention whores and get hammered with their friends. These are the types of people who don't really care much about the music, they just want to be loud, obnoxious and party. Concerts are the perfect place for this. Lots of people, lots of noise, lots of alcohol, lots of drugs. Of course, some people top these type: The beer and piss throwers.

Got smthg on my back and head in wembley 2009 was it and I was scared to actually smell it as it would ruin my day being covered with piss But on the other hand, in the front, having a good time... it is annoying but it sort of multiplies the madness when the first songs starts and beers r in the air

these are the same people that are moaning about concert bootlegs from lets say germany or something, where the people don`t go apeshit during the concert. Some folks just stand there quietly and listen, try to enjoy the concert. I can enjoy jumpin around and scream the songs with passion, but I never understood for example moshpits. You just have to focus on not falling down or getting bruises, instead of enjoying the music. maybe I`m too old.
