considering they didn't play on those songs and weren't even in the band at the time. Part of them must be like 'wtf am I doing'.

That is why I prefer Beady Eye, if they are going to play Oasis tunes, to perform the ones they wrote themselves. It's a pride thing. They also wrote some great stuff we never got to hear live with Oasis (Eyeball Tickler, Boy With The Blues).

I don't mind whose songs they play, as long as their heart and soul is in it.

I preferred it when they were their own band playing their own songs. It must be kind of soul-destroying to see the crowd bouncing for two Oasis songs and then relatively passive for the rest of the songs, in fact I heard Liam telling people that they can go back to sleep after playing an Oasis song. I really don't see the point myself, their shows were pretty good as they were, especially finishing with Sons of the Stage which IMO was as good a cover to finish a gig as I Am The Walrus.

Maybe they see playing a few Oasis songs as their duty to the fans. Obviously they've picked up some new fans since becoming Beady Eye, but the vast majority still are Oasis fans. Sadly the anthems were wrote by Noel, even though Liam, Gem and Andy have written some absolute corkers in there time in Oasis. I'd say the most popular Liam written song in the Oasis era was probably Songbird, and we know why that isn't gonna be played live anytime soon...

Wait. So if Liam sings songs WRITTEN by Noel it is strange?
It's good that Beady Eye still playing old Oasis songs - they will live forever, people should hear those hits again.

They played these songs during Oasis. I don't see the problem.
I don't see much of a problem when fans go crazy for Oasis songs more than the BE songs either. Why? Because people like nostalgia. They like things that are out of the norm. They are coming to hear Beady Eye, and they are getting an Oasis treat too. Why wouldn't they go crazy?

I'm sure when Andy and Gem joined Oasis they didnt expect Wonderwall to be dropped in favour of a Quick Peep, or Live Forever to make way for Hung In a fucking Bad Place
And it's no different now. If people in the crowd are paying £27 for those 2 songs then it's them that have the problem

I think they should not play Noel songs during their gigs. If I would be a member of Beady Eye I would try to convince the rest of that too, cause I would feel weird, but if they and the audience enjoy it why not. for me it would be a kick in my ego and I would just lay hands on the songs bandmembers had written and maybe play one hidden gem, that changes every gig as a tribute. but playing just songs from the first two records .... so fucking safe play and in my eyes boring. we heard the songs that Beady Eye play right now on every single Oasis tour. give us back something that fits in the psychedelic pattern with BE. Something like "Gas panic", "who feels love", "roll it over", "born on a different cloud", "A bell will ring" every bonus track of Oasis MK II or songs from Dig out your soul....

I think people are looking to much into this, they probably really don't mind blasting out old oasis hits.

It just seems like Liam got bored and put those songs in for his own sake. The fans weren't going to Beady Eye gigs clamouring for Oasis songs. Nobody was demanding them. The line was defined - we're Beady Eye not Oasis. It was a mistake to backtrack on that in my opinion.

What was wrong with my statement? I was pointing out why it isn't weird at all, considering they have already did it for 8 years. What makes anything different now? What makes it suddenly weird with Beady Eye?

I was against them playing Oasis songs but if they're going to play them I'd rather they played the ones people want to hear - Live Forever, Morning Glory, Supersonic, etc - than the collective bag of shit that they wrote. I know a lot of people have quite diverse tastes on here, but there'd be a mass exodus to the bar if they tried to play Pass Me Down The Wine or Thank You For The Good Times. Turn Up The Sun they could get away with, Songbird definitely, but why bother when you see the reaction Live Forever gets?
It is a bit odd for Gem and Andy to be playing songs they had nothing to do with, but you have to balance that out with the alternatives (assuming they're going to play Oasis songs) - Oasis classics were almost entirely pre-2000
