Andy Bell spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live just before the first Manchester date last month. It was broadcast last night here (skip to 3:11:45): www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03kq2m8There's an extended version of the interview (another 9 minutes) on soundcloud here: tinyurl.com/AndyBellextraSome good insight on how they see the album now, his history with Oasis before he joined the band, and what guitar pedal he used on BE!

Wow nice find. I love a good Andy or Gem interview without Liam in there. Surprising that the band didn't pick any of the singles outside of "Flick of The Finger".

Is this the Oasis gig Andy is talking about in this interview? Sure is! I love the ending to "I Am The Walrus". I don't remember it sounding like that the two times I saw them on the DOYS tour. Crowd singing was great also. #ThatsRockNRollMister

Thanks for sharing It's quite weird how little the band knows about tour dates or single releases. Edit: Just seen the Argentina video. That has to be the best crowd I've ever seen.

Thanks for sharing It's quite weird how little the band knows about tour dates or single releases. Agreed. I'm surprised a record executive doesn't hear "I'm Just Saying" and go, 'that's the single!'. No brainer in my opinion. Doesn't guarantee any success but it is their best commercial foot forward.

Great listen!!
Nice hearing Andy was a number 1 fan of Oasis in their prime days even! Didn't know that! What a priviledge it must have been to be invited to play with them!!
I feel like Andy should do more interviews. He's so sincere, it's really intersting!

Don' t want to upset anyone, Andy' s great musician and I didn' t like how offensive Noel was to him with the shoegazing thing but there is lack of charisma. maybe not charisma, but Andy seems to sooo normal and ordinary sometimes that is not interesting. Like your neighborough who has a band, has a Ford Focus, greets his milkman, never make noise... I reckon sometimes ppl wanna see someone who looks like is living a dream that unfortunately will stay for many of us just a dream

Is this the Oasis gig Andy is talking about in this interview? This would have been a friggin' amazing gig had it not been for shouty-DOYS-Liam never actually singing a lyric in the whole gig... The band are at the top of their game here and Noel assumed the role of rock God with aplomb on this tour.

Nice interview from Andy, great to hear him talk about Oasis in such honesty. I always feel he interviews better without Liam there, dunno why but he always seems a bit more chilled out

The truths come out more among the other co-workers. A more relaxed setting. Plus Andy has his own great stories that all took place before joining Oasis. It's a nice perspective.

Yeah, I can imagine Liam's utter self-confidence and swagger could intimidate a guy like Andy, who seems quite reserved and almost shy. I'm not saying exactly that he feels intimidated by Liam, I'm sure after 14 years he's gotten used to him but he certainly does sound more at ease when he's being interviewed when Liam's not there. Hell, I'd bet it be pretty surreal for him at times having been an fan before joining the band.

Just posted the download link to this interview if anyone needs it. live4ever.proboards.com/post/1099825Good interview and Oasis's River Plate Stadium gig is one of the best Oasis gigs ever. We all have a DVD of this gig, but seriously this gig deserves to be released as an official DVD. We, all cold hearted souls in this side of the sea need to have a passion like all those people at this gig, yet I blame our weather for it. and eva was at this gig!

What a gig, what a crowd. They were louder than Liam. Epic.
