Well it isn't a new Doves album but it will have to do. His debut drops in March. Goodwin will release the album, which was self-produced with Dan Austin (Doves, Pixies), it is set for release on Heavenly on March 24 2014.
Speaking about the album, Goodwin says: "I wanted to make this mad mixtape… the kind you'd pass back and forth with your mates; eclectic as fuck. That’s the way we’ve all discovered music over the years isn’t it? We join our own dots to make it all make sense."
He continues: "As I got into making the record, it felt like I was proving something to myself, making a point that I could do all this on my own. You know - I can play bass, I can play guitar, I can orchestrate. As the methods changed, the original concept stayed intact. It’s me, powering through ideas, kapow kapow, no pause for breath. It's not trying to be wilfully eclectic; it’s just a reflection of how I schizophrenically devour music."The 'Odludek' tracklisting is as follows: 'Terracotta Warrior' 'Didsbury Girl' 'Live Like A River' 'Hope' 'Man v Dingo' 'Keep My Soul In Song' 'Oh! Whiskey' 'Ghost Of The Empties' 'Lonely At The Drop' 'Panic Tree'www.nme.com/news/various-artists/74313New Single - Oh! Whiskey soundcloud.com/jimigoodwinofficial/oh-whisky#t=1:03

This should fill a gap between the next Doves album. He will be supporting Elbow with their next album on their next tour from March 2014 onwards.
It's been ages since any of them have done anything - four years of nothing to be precise. A great band, it's ages since they last released Kingdom of Rust. 4 and a half years I think, I remember buying the album just before I started my undergraduate degree.

It's equal to The Seldom Seen Kid in my opinion, similar style also. Doves have been very sporadic - one album in 2005 and one four years later in 2009. I have no idea when to expect their next album, kind of expecting the latter half of this decade judging by what the band members have been saying.
