Last night in Portland they played entire album (11 songs) and this cover, so 12 songs in total. I don't mind if it's a bit short set as I don't have to rush to catch the train when I go to see them. @4:48 'thanks very much, we don't have any more songs' So true. they could always do 'return to the moon' over and over for six hours straight to stretch things out a bit In that case, I'll take Matt to my house and let him sing a song for six hours. He'll get a bottle of wine for free.

i wonder if the final song will always be 'she drives me crazy', or if the cover at the end will change from night to night? would be cool if they did a different 80's cheese song every gig so you would never know what you could get

Love it!!! Matt talking to himself answering the fan's questions: www.facebook.com/ELVYclub/"Why don't you smile when you're on the pic with your brother Tom?" "Why must all the wine always be for you?" "When you met Taylor Swift, why did you pretend I wasn't there?"

listening to the album again now, this time with a good set of headphones. you can hear a lot of stuff that you don't hear over speakers 'sleeping light' is sneaking right up on me, growing on me big time. i will say it now---- this album is a MASTERPIECE. i know they will both go back to their respective bands after this tour but i really hope we will get an el vy 2 sometime down the road.

Loving the album too. Matt showed us a different side of him with this project - light and relaxed. Hopefully this project continues, but I want the new album by The National first.

Via Pitchfork........................................
While the band's members have stayed busy with a series of other projects, the National have been making moves on their follow-up to Trouble Will Find Me, Stereogum reports. The band met earlier this year for writing sessions, and Berninger calls 15 of the new songs "very fucking amazing".
The band revealed that while the record is still in the early days, they're writing more songs together as a band. According to Aaron Dessner, they're also taking a more stripped-down approach to songwriting. “We’re not afraid, I think, to write hooks now,” he said.
Dessner described the National's new songs as "a bit razory," "brighter," and "a little bit harsher." Berninger said of their new songwriting and recording approach, "It’s changing the National, the way we’re doing it."

Great news, Lennon2217! I'm curious if Matt pulls out his brighter side with the new album although his darkness in Boxer is his greatest charm.

It'd be great if they did something like "Available" again.

It'd be great if they did something like "Available" again. They still play "Available" live. I get an evil laugh everytime they play it live and many audiences are like "what is that? is it the new song?". Just checked their official website and they're playing at Tinderbox festival in Denmark on 23 - 25 June next year. I take that the new album will be out by then? They might play at Glastonbury too. I really hope they'll do solo gigs. First time when I saw them was in Paradiso in 2010 during the World Cup with capacity of 1500, second time was at Cross Links festival in 2011 with more capacity and the last time when I saw them was at Heineken Music Hall in 2013 with capacity of 5500. They became well known and big now, that you can't see them in a small venue, which is a shame.

I know, it's a shame - the first (and only, so far) time I went to their gig, in 2013, there was around 4-5 thousand people, tops. It was still amazing and spectacular and in fact they were much better than I thought they would be, but I still wish I could have gone to their gig when they first played in my country, back in 2004. There was only around 80 people there. Sadly, I was only 13 at the time and I wasn't even aware they existed.

"Imagining Buffalo" is very beautiful. Bryce Dessner and Ryuichi Sakamoto, very intersting cooperation!
