They are quite possibly the best live band I've ever seen. Even things I don't like that much off the record like Shoot The Runner sound bloody brilliant live.

What I like about Kasabian is that they, like the Arctic Monkeys, have really evolved as their career has gone on. Sonically they are a different band to their first album, but you can tell it's the same band, if that makes sense. West Ryder is a fantastic album, a few belters in there and also a few hidden gems. Can't wait to hear what they have to offer!

I've not been sure about Tom since he became mates with Liam. He has his good days and bad days.
I just get the impression that their cover of Pictures Of Matchstick Men was recorded because Tom wanted to have a go at Scorpio Rising, but that would play too much into the hands of his Liam admiration, so Matchstick Men was the closest thing. But seriously, if you listen to them do Matchstick Men, Tom's really channeling Scorpio Rising.
I do hope this album is good. I've been pleasantly surprised by their last two.

Kasabian paint cryptic message on wall in east LondonAny ideas on what it might be? The obviously conclusion (to me) is that 48:13 seems like an appropriate album length. But what would be the point of putting that on a wall? Could also be a bible verse perhaps. 48:13 = "My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together"

I looked at that for awhile and not got the foggiest of ideas. looking forward to some recordings from Glasto tho

BLAST OFF! He tried to shoot you with precision, take yer face off.
Listening to Velociraptor! (the album) right now. BY FAR their best album. I even like Switchblade Smiles - I loathed it when I first heard that track.
If this album is as good as Velociraptor!, I'll be very pleased.

I listened to their debut for the first time in a while today. It is a nice listen and in my opinion its been downhill from there. The debut album has a couple great singles (Club Foot, LSF, Cutt Off, Processed Beats) and really strong album tracks (I.D.,, Butcher Blues, Ovary Stripe).
They have some nice singles on their later albums but none of them are that exciting when you listen to them all the way through, which is a damn shame because conceptually they should be great, I mean I love Oasis and Primal Scream.
I think they lost a lot of what made them good when Karloff left. They are probably one of the best live bands on the planet but on record they've been disappointing.

Another band I just don't get the love for, If I want to listen to Primal scream/Oasis rip off I listen to the real thing. Some nice singles and they are a good live act, Saw them a few times here in Dublin and the frontman is a entertainer and I have to say they blew Oasis off the stage when I saw them in Slane. But none of their albums blew me away, Their Debut and Empire were fine, West Ryder was overrated to hell and Velociraptor was their weakest to date.
They took up the lad rock baton from Oasis and it has it's niche so fair play to them. But I don't expect none of their albums to ever feature in the greatest albums lists.

I think that Karloff was their grumpy member that decided what was good and what wasn't like D'arcy was in the original Smashing Pumpkins. Their albums havent been the same after he left.

Their debut effort is by far the best sounding album. I love the electronic tinge on all tracks. That has practically all but disappeared from Kasabian tracks these days. I'd prefer a return to that type of soundscape. This was the sound I wanted Oasis to attempt in the mid 2000s. Sadly it never really took place. I got really excited when Death In Vegas came on board in 2003/2004, they could have taken Oasis to that electronic threshold but Noel got scared, chickened out....whatever.

To me their debut album is still the best to me, followed by "West Ryder...". I didn't even buy their last album and I'm not very excited about their new album.
I've seen them for 9 times. Met them in person several times. They're still a great live band, but I'm getting bored with them.

That must not be the official titles... I do remember earlier this year in Q Magazine an interview with Kasabian. They discussed, in length, a track called Bumblebee and how it probably will be a big single.

In an interview with Q Magazine published in late December, the band revealed that the album would be released in June 2014 and announced the first six song titles: Bumblebee, Explodes, Eez-Eh, Glass, Kid and Scissor Paper Stone. In January 2014 Treat was mentioned in an NME interview, as well as the fact that all of the 13 songs on the album would have one-word titles.
kasabian.wikia.com/wiki/Fifth_Studio_AlbumSo those titles are probably right. There is no song Kid on that tracklist that is the only thing. Other than that its all fine.

Wouldn't be too surprised to see them play Radio 1 Big Weekend in May as that's always good promotion.
