Hello!, I´m new here...
I would like if Noel likes any solo female artist, for example PJ Harvey, Bjork, Tori Amos,whoever...
I don´t know if he has ever been asked about that o if he´s s ever talked about this topic spontaneously...
Maybe you have read or heard about that....
I´ve been wondering about that for some time....
I don´t know if he just likes bands composed of boys or if he has any favorite female artists.... I´m sure he doesn´t like great jazz singers (Fitzgerald, Holiday,Vaughan) because I´m preety sure he once said jazz sucks!!!

I remember Noel talking about this in a recent interview. I forget clearly now what was said but he said something along the lines of "girls in bands" (then went on to make a bewildered face). Thus, I would imagine he thinks its a waste of time and doesn't see it fitting in the rock n' roll handbook.
I'd suspect he does get on friendly with many female musicians...if you watch the DM DVD he said he had a talk with Ammie Mann who asked him how he could think up the chord during Supersonic (the C#maj7) 'and before tomorrow' without any music theory training...so he must've gotten on with her or something...
But being friendly and mixing with them is one thing. I'd imagine that his record collection is very thin with female artists.
And I agree with him. I really can't stand many female artists...least of all girls with guitars in rock bands... I mean, Garbage and Hole suck! (And so do the Yeah Yeah Yeahs et al)

I think that story is more told in a sarcastic and derogatory manner abot Aimee Mann, like "look at this snooty bitch, thinks cos I'm off a council estate in Burnage I couldn't write that song -- fuck her!"

I remember once on some TV show - the '100 Greatest Guitar Heroes' or somesuch shit, Noel slagged off women playing the guitar, saying they were crap and it was a bloke's thing? I think he said it quite jokily and may have been shown out of context but it sounded bad. That girl guitarist from Ash was moaning about it in the NME the week after, calling Noel a wanker and slagging off the "simple" songs he writes.
