Title says it all, people. We all love the Verve. Some like the earlier shoegaze stuff more, some like the polish of Urban Hymns more (and some may prefer Richard solo stuff) but its all good.
What I've been enjoying these days are their b-sides. Just like Oasis, their Bsides are incredible. Even the Bsides and outtakes for Forth:
Chic Dub Mover (studio version) Blue Pacific Ocean Mohamed Ali Mama Soul All Night Long Major Force
...they're all great. Especially All Night Long and Chic Dub. But I'm so glad that we got more material from these guys.
What are some of your favourite Verve Bsides?
Mine: Where the Geese Go, I See the Door, Twilight, Let The Damage Begin, Grey Skies.

Man, I used to love the Verve. Urban Hymns at one point was in my top 3 favorite albums of all time, it has since slipped to probably in the top 25.
I haven't listened to them in a while and I've grown to love a lot of other bands more, but they are a force. Love their live recordings.
When they were at their peak they were fabulous. Love their b-sides. Twilight and Where the Geese Go are some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. And the alt version of On your Own is one of the most heartbreaking recordings I've heard.
McCabe is one of the most underrated guitarists of his era. Richard was great in the 90's as well but, its kinda disappointing to see him move to the cheesy pop that has occupied a majority of his solo career.
Still with songs like: All in the Mind, A Man Called Sun, This is Music, History, On Your Own, Life's An Ocean, Star Sail, See You In The Next One, Bittersweet Symphony, Sonnet, The Drugs Don't Work, they are a great band, one that did flamed out a little too quickly. I feel that despite their great catalog they really could have added more. Lucky we got the songs that we did.

Urban Hymns along with Ok Computer and Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space are the albums of 1997. The last two in particular were game changers. Urban Hymns was the last "lad" album of the 90s imo.

It's the 2nd best song from those sessions after Love Is Noise.
