I've wanted to know this for ages. Around '96/'97, I saw an episode of 'The Vicar of Dibley' (UK comedy TV show starring Dawn French), which was the Christmas special, and it showed an Oasis-themed chocolate advent calendar. The front of it has got the picture of Noel playing his union jack guitar at Maine Rd, and there are various smaller collaged pics of Liam and the band.

Does anyone know if these existed in shops/ were widely available at the time? Were they official merchandise at any time? I've tried eBay. Or do you think this was made up as a prop especially for the show? It actually wouldn't surprise me if these actually could be bought from supermarkets at the time. What a killer collectors' item though! (chocolate might be a bit past it though.....)

[watch alarm goes off]
VICAR: [checks her watch] Chocolate time! Now then, Alice, tell me, exactly how many chocolate advent calendars is the maximum a greedy person should have?

ALICE: [concentrating vigorously] I don't know, I would have thought thirty.

VICAR: Good! Good! I've got it just about right then. Good. And there's just enough time before David's party to open two more windows on my Oasis one. [plucks two person-shaped chocolates from the calendar and presents them to Alice] Do you want Liam or Noel?

ALICE: [lunges across room] LIAM!!!

VICAR: [hesitant] All right then. [hands the Liam chocolate to Alice as though giving it to her, then stuffs it in her own mouth at the last second. The taste of the chocolate then inspires a thought in her, and she grabs Alice's arm] Patsy's right, you know - Liam is tasty.
