I don't care what people think of him, I love him, love The Smiths more than I can tell and it's enough for me.

The living person I admire the most. I'm really enjoying his book. I can admire his music, but I'm struggling to see how people can actually like Morrissey the person to the point that they do. He's the opposite to Liam and Noel. "I used to think that getting up the morning was the greatest thing in the world'' - Noel Gallagher. As someone said, if Morrissey had written the Harry Potter books, it would only have been one book: Harry would've stayed in the cupboard under the stairs for the rest of life because magic isn't real.

He's not an icon for no reason. He may be miserable but with such wit and self deprecation. Can't say that for any other singer, and he knows just how to wind people up.
Love the guy, cannot get enough of him.

Love the guy, cannot get enough of him. It's as if some people expect all lead singers in bands to be anti intellectual knuckle draggers. I thank God we have/had artists capable of producing downbeat music. My world would be a lot worse if I didn't have Morrisey, Cobain, Cohen, Eliott Smith etc etc.

2011: Of the Norway massacre in which 77 people died, Morrissey heralds to a Warsaw crowd, "That is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried shit every day." Just one of many his stupid quotes. What do u make of that? I don' t listen to is solo records, but as a person he' s a joyless old fuck

Well, I don't think he's opposite to the Gallaghers. In fact, I think they are pretty much the same. Of course Morrissey's lyrics are not as uplifting as Oasis but I think they both made beautiful tunes out of a very dark and dull background. They escaped through their music. Oasis is about attitude and Morrissey is about passion. As a person he is terribly interesting, on every interview he always seems charming to me. I admire him for his music, for the subjects on his lyrics, his charismatic personality and because he's simply different. He knows exactly what to say to get the media attention but I think he uses this ability on right purposes, like pointing to animal cruelty. I agree that the Norway shootings comments were too much, although he explained himself later. I totally agree on the Harry Potter comment. But I think Morrissey believes in magic, but his drama mentality wouldn't let him believe that something as amazing could happen to him.

He's such an interesting person. I love him for having his opinion, sticking to it and telling it. As a vegetarian, I absolutely admire him for putting an album called Meat is Murder out and by that having converted thousands of people into vegetarians. That alone makes him a a person who has made the world a better place (I DON'T want to start a discussion about vegetarianism now, please, that's just my opinion). And as a person who loves his music, I cannot really dislike the musician behind the music. Maybe that's a weakness and sometimes wrong, but let's be honest, we all like Liam (most of us), which people who are not into Oasis' music cannot understand. I sometims, too, struggle to explain why I like him, still I have a poster of him in my room

His autobiography is a treat - find it hilarious. Can't believe it's nearly five years since his last album - fingers crossed he can come back with an absolute stormer.

www.nme.com/news/morrissey/73593Morrissey has now been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles following treatment for concussion, whiplash and an arm injury. Morrissey would like to thank the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai for their "outstanding level of care and attention".

Love the guy, cannot get enough of him. I'd say a lot of the people who don't like him simply write him off as someone who is constantly miserable and singing about how sad life is...although there is plenty of funny/witty stuff on every album he did - even The Queen Is Dead has songs like Vicar in a Tutu, Cemetry Gates or the title track that show he is more than that. By now I'm pretty sure he mainly sticks to the miserable act because he's good at it. Musically he is absolutely supreme, everything he ever did is great in its own way and he has tried a lot of different styles over the years - albums like The Smiths, Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I or Years of Refusal often sound completely different, but they're all great. In the end, people might talk shit about Morrissey...but they can never taint him in my eyes.

As much as I admire his music, somebody should call him Stephen in an interview and see how he reacts to somebody calling him by his actual name.
