A bit off the topic but anyone ever feels like ASGOG sounds like it could've been written for Liam to sing? Damn but I'd like to hear a version of it sung by Liam.

The Good Rebel is an aberration of a tune, so so bad. It's clunky dad rock that sounds like the type of tune an overweight, middle aged red faced pub band would perform. Noel needs to desperately stop writing tunes like this, thankfully didn't end up on the album.
I'd Pick You Everytime is a great little song though. One of his best solo tunes, not just his best b-side. If we're talking extra tracks too, then Alone on the Rope is up there. Sounds original and intriguing, not embarrasing like Good Rebel. These two tunes rank up there as two of the best tunes he's done in ages, especially Alone on the Rope.
Also, I don't really care for Simple Game of Genius - a decent track, but very Noel by numbers I think. The start sounds really interesting, something different but then turns very ordinary. A wee bit plodding and, again, dangerously veers close to dad rock.

Does that song go as far back as 2004? Fuck me, never knew that. Would have been interesting to hear. Maybe one day we will. Anyway, I do love I'd Pick You Every Time. And although not a b-side, Freaky Teeth is a tune!!

In the HFB documentary it was originally on the albums tracklisting. I just hate how Noel delays songs. It was written in late 2008. Demoed in 2010. Was supposed to be on the AA album in 2012. Still unreleased and it's basically 2014. By the time "Freaky Teeth" sees the light of day it'll be almost 10 years old.

LTLSALOM, ASGOG are really great tunes.
Although it is not a b-side, I really enjoy the demo of Come On, It's Alright. I can't wait to see the final product.

That's even another song that is taking ages to come out officially. Combine that with Freaky Teeth and The Dying of The Light, Noel's next album is going to have some ancient relics on it. Better late than never I suppose. #FreeSlow

I was hoping we wouldn't for his next, but it would also seem like a waste to not have these wonderful tracks on there. Maybe he could release a standalone single with a b-side like Oasis did with Whatever? That would clear up at least two songs and leave more room for his newer/unheard material for the album.

Come On, It's Alright has so much potential. I just wish Liam had got his finger out and we'd have had it on the last Oasis record. It would be good to hear a new Noel album full of new songs we haven't heard before but I doubt that will ever happen with him. The only other way would be to have his next album with 13/14 songs on it - the 3 or 4 we've heard and the rest new, unheard material. I'm not convinced that would ever happen though. A standalone singles a good idea mind you.

It is a bit Noel by numbers maybe, but I reckon the difference with this and several others such tunes is that, at least for me, ASGOG kind of has the sort of feeling that earlier Noel songs had, but most of the 00s+ ones didn't. It's very Noel-y tune but it seems to have that kind of hope/epicness/spirit that is lacking from plenty of Noel's later material. For me it was a bit of a "well fuck this is the Noel I've missed" moment when I heard it Like ASGOG and Champagne Supernova are some of my fave tunes to listen to when driving fast and far at sunrise I'd really really would like to know when Alone On The Rope was written. Even just an approximation, like which Oasis album era or post-split.

Now Noel is too damn close to a second album. Might as well put all the good material on that. Good times ahead for sure.

No journalist will ever mention this, as its one for the fans to always catch on to, but no mention of this from anyone since the 1990s is bizaare. 'Best song he's ever written' is what Owen Morris said I think.

'Best song he's ever written' is what Owen Morris said I think. Noel said he had it written and demoed during the HFB sessions with Dave Sardy in Los Angeles. No idea if it was written while in Oasis. I somehow don't think it was. The saga of "Slow" is one I'll never fully understand. Before the "Stop The Clocks" mania, their was "Slow" mania on early Oasis websites/forum in the late 90s. I wish someone would ask him about it in 2014. #5000Post
