If I had to make a dream rock band, hands down I'd have Freddie Mercury as the frontman. This. Any day.

Morrissey, greatest frontman AND singer ever? Nah, codswallop imo. Similar thing with Plant for me, stunning voice in his day but as a frontman he was never managed the extrovert lead singer role with as much vigor as someone like Jagger did

This might not be a popular opinion on this forum but Chris Martin really does know how to fire up and engage a crowd. Seen it multiple times. Place goes nuts, But he is a quite atrocious singer and the constant thanking of the crowd gets irritating after a while

Even though he isn't the best, Bowie should definitely be up there somewhere

In terms of showmanship, Michael Jackson was the best hands down. A complete entertainer.
Best voice: Michael Jackson, Liam, John Lennon, Paul McCartney
Best band frontman: I'd go for Liam or Freddie Mercury

MJ is not the best he made 1 hugely successful lp he is not the best voice , or best performer ...mick blew him off the stage performance wise. MJ played 90 minutes. Know your facts

The fella who chose to put his hands behind his back while singing for the first time automatically won this category and will stay invincible till the end of time.

He is not a great live act not even close He wasn't even "not great", even from the 80s he was miming. Didn't sing a word. So how can he possibly be considered the greatest frontman/singer of all time? It's a pisstake as far as I'm concerned. Live, he was just a nifty dancer, and even that wasn't all him, a lot of those moves were just old James Brown steps he'd learnt how to replicate and pass off as his own

So he became a myth. Beat it. Billie jean are great tunes ..that don't make him zep or the beatles He is so overated it's funny. He's a joke if u really look at his body of work

Not hating. But the praise gets overblown. He made one great lp. Look it up. His others were ok. He's no legend before he died. He was a has been. He died he's became legend again. Fact

He wasn't a must see? Thats probably the joke of the century.. He was the most famous person alive in the 80's. He could sell out in 2009 before his death let alone during his peak..
As for Mick Jagger? talk about over-rated, you dont need to look any further.
As for Billie Jean and Beat it, I wouldn't even rank them in his top 5, those are probably just his more popular songs alongside Thriller, or maybe they're just the ones you know, I don't know but he has better songs.
He was and still is considered one of the greats because he is one, he sold shitloads of albums..best selling album of all time, broke racial barriers, imo unrivalled as a dancer and entertainer. He was one of the few child prodigies that lived up to his potential.
As for his death making him a myth, it also makes no sense, he was already one of the most successful acts on earth during the 80's and 90's, his name was tossed around more than anyone else's, he didn't need his death to give his name any more fame. He died at 50, not in his 20's..
Off the wall is probably better than Thriller..BEFORE thriller he was selling more shitloads with the jackson 5/jacksons. BAD- also another legendary album, 5 number 1 singles off 1 album. Not only did his music leave its mark on music but his music videos changed the face of music too.
