95 (Earls court is unbelievable) and 97. I agree about Earls Court, the best example from there is I Am The Walrus - but the one that didn't appear on the DVD.

Tough question! To me, either 1995 or 1996 was one of the best years for Liam's voice. The delivery here is amazing...
That said, 2000 was another very good year. The versions of Rock n Roll Star and My Generation they recorded for the Evening Session were great.

You could pick any year from 1994 to 1998, it just comes down to personal preference really. I'd say 97 but I wouldn't argue against any of the others.
2000 was good but different, 2002 was perfectly acceptable for the most part, then it was a downward slope from then onward until 2008. 2011 with Beady Eye was probably the best of the 'modern' era

Even though I absolutely loved his voice in 2000, I think 1996 was his peak. It all went downhill after 2002ish really, his voice just wasn't the same from that point on. Woulda loved to hear Stop Crying Your Heart Out with his '94 voice though, that woulda been amazing.

I would say 1997 for the best, but I guess my favorite year is 2000 because that was the version of his voice I first fell in love with.

It's 1994 or 1995. 1995 just wins - slightly more growl to it. The range he had was phenomenal, the best he's ever sung. He sings in tune, not flat, doesn't shout the words. Probably the summer of 1995, and Earls Court if I'm going to narrow it down:
Listen to that, it's pretty evident he's been partying hard by the sound of his voice but reaching the notes and the tone, it's effortless.
1997 is the start of the decline. The range is decreasing, as is to be expected with the way he uses his voice and looks after it. But, even the way he pronounces words is different. He shouts lines (in tune!) rather than sings. It's still pretty good but it hastened the decline. 1999 his voice was still in decent nick but had the scars from the Be Here Now tour (his voice had deepened certainly..), and sounded ok but struggled with high notes/shortening words at the start of 2000, which declined pretty rapidly by the time we get to the summer UK gigs. 2001 was a slight improvement on 2000 and it's been in rapid decline since then.

I'm the only one who doesn't like early Liam's voice? He sounded just too clean

It's what you think ... I agree with Lennon2217 94-98 and 97-98 his best , IMO for both his lp and definatly live , on that I'm much more adamant having seen them on all there tours as many here have not just me ..bit to me the 97-98 years were his strongest , if you consider that early then I think your in the minority , but I may be wrong man

Pure and utter perfection in this performance.
On the other hand, I love the roughness to performance in 2002.
Columbia is a great tune.

Nothing for me will ever beat Maine Road (the umbro night) The effortless power, range and sheer quality he could achieve in those years was ridiculous
