After reading through many threads on the forum over the last months, I come away feeling like a sizable group of members feels that I don't put down my foot enough on here and that I simply don't care. Some go as far as to think that I actually like the troll and flaming wars on here because it drives the traffic up and I make more money... I started Live4ever back in 2002 and I lost track of how many terabytes of (bootleg) traffic I personally financed to keep the site going. I didn't mind paying , I enjoyed the publishing 'hobby' which now has now turned into a second 'job' since the Ezine was added. I am not in it for the money, believe me.
For all those who claim I look the other way on all the 'crap' that's going on I have to say: try running a forum this size one day and let me know how you do.
A lot of the security log work is done without any knowledge of the members since I don't want to make a big deal out of it. If it makes anyone feel any better I have banned 303 members and IPs so far and if necessary I'll continue to do so , quietly ,the way it should be. That's all from me folks and please respect your mods and co members. I respect you too - I won't turn into a trigger happy forum dictator. I really do mean well for the community.

the forum's current problems are not your fault, nor are they the mods'. you have a full time job and a family, and having to maintain this forum on top of all of that 24/7 is an arduous task. the pettiness i've seen here and the way barely anyone can converse like adults has been the #1 contributor to the departure of key members here, whether permanently or temporarily. it's a damn shame, but there you go. i just want to thank you for giving us this forum and for all that you've done. i've grown up on this place, and i'll stay a member here as long as you and the mods will have me. so here's to you, webbo. there's a beer with your name on it at the next meet up!  |

There have been a few new users who seem to post just to piss people off..I call that having no life.
I think you're doing your job the right way, no need to be a dictator and ban everyone you want but from what i'm seeing, people are starting to either leave this site or post less just to avoid these annoying members which isn't fair imo.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to describe it in another way, but what I mean is if this place was ran by people like the ones that run other forums like, I don't know, muse forums and shit, there would be NO CHANCE I would still be in here after I first joined a few years ago. If it becomes too serious and too strict I'm out of there. Because people can take it way too seriously and it becomes ridiculous. This forum is great, I've met some of the best people thanks to it and it's a virtual home I know I can always go back to (gay!) but honestly. OF COURSE THERE'S GOING TO BE TROLLS! Freedom of speech is not always pretty, but without it we'd be China or North Korea and not living in the free world. As long as you continue to allow freedom of speech, I'll keep coming back here.
