I think what will be most interesting about the new album, which equally made BE an interesting album, are a majority of songs that aren't just leftovers from Oasis like we had with both albums first time around. Exactly.

I hope the album won't sound as 'epic', even though Noel's album is superior to DGSS I find the latter to be easier to listen to, especially among other songs. More guitars, less choirs and orchestras is something I'd like.

It is hard to imagine that the High Flying Birds album was written by the same man who once wrote an album consisting of only 12 songs but with a running time of over 71 minutes. A few of the tunes on HFB are belting little pop tunes and the rest is all decent enough, but where's the energy or the balls to just break into an improvised guitar break or something? It's all so safe. The perfectionism wouldn't be a problem if the songs were anywhere near perfect themselves, but some of the stuff on there in the form it's recorded is dross for someone with the talent on Noel Gallagher imo. Some of the tunes need a damn good kick up the arse in some way, just to give them some life, an unexpected middle eight or a smattering of guitars and change in drum pattern.
And for the love of god Noel, please no more choir!

I actually love the first album, and I mean all the songs on it,I think in terms of songwriting is the best thing he's written since WTSMG, I don't want DM again, as I think he's not able to write one anymore, I agree about putting some little guitar solos now and then but that's it for me, the only issue with HFB1 was the production on some tracks, but apart for that I enjoy the kind of music he's making

Kind of regret my last post now tbh, I know it's a buzz kill scrolling through comments of people slagging off something that you like. I only moan because I want the best music possible from Noel, that I know he's capable of, not out of spite or with the intention to annoy

Here's the real question: Will Noel follow the same sound from his first album? Or will he venture off into a new direction? I realize it's near impossible to say, but I'm just curious at some of the responses.

I realize it's near impossible to say, but I'm just curious at some of the responses. Has he ever followed the same sound from his last album ? No. He never did and i think he won't this time either. And sometimes i think. Honestly. Wasn't it clear that he always wanted a succesful solo career after Oasis becoming the biggest band in the world? Of course times changed since 1995 and he kind of chilled out if you know what i mean, got a different point of view,, kids, wife and all, but i guess his dream is not over and it's still part of his shall i say masterplan, he still has something to say. And i don't want to sound like a naive childish fan who is taking things too seriously but come on Liam is constantly insulting in public him, his band name, all the tickets are sold, sick of lying, crying, singing fuckin cry baby cry,, all that obvious stuff. I don' t know how to say it, but i'd expect him to show some balls this time.

Don't know why but everytime I think about the HFB2 I have a feeling it has more room to breathe, more acoustic guitars and less drums and in-your-face rockers. Something along the lines of his acoustic gigs and some SOTSOG demos.

He doesn't look older, just fatter. I was thinking this as well. Didn't want to say it, but there you go. I was already thinking that when watching the beach photos. Definitely gained some weight. Not that he's morbide obese or anything, or even fat. On a sidenote: I hate how when you press backspace you have to type IN the quote and can't go back to the space underneath.
