Just listened to 'Down In The Groove' by Dylan and for me it's one of his worst with some terrible songs but it does contain the stunning 'Death Is Not The End' and a haunting rendition or 'Rank Strangers To Me' and for those two tracks it makes owning the album worth it to me.
Just wondering what albums you guys have in your collection that are for the whole part bad but contain one or two songs you go back to?

Easy Tiger by Ryan Adams has 'Halloweenhead' & 'I Thought Myself How to Grow Old'
I wouldn't be a big fan of the rest of the record.

that one M83 album with Midnight City on it. Got so bored by halfway through, nothing even came close to it. Really disappointing, it's such a great track.
First Impressions of Earth might be my least favorite album by the Strokes but has some of their best ever songs. (You Only Live Once, Electricityscape, Red Light).
Giving Up the Gun on Contra by Vampire Weekend. It's all pretty listenable but I personally think that's where it came together best.

Forgot about The Shins. Port of Morrow - 40 Mark Strasse, Wincing the Night Away - Phantom Limb. Some of the best modern pop tracks on some of the most dull albums...
the individual tracks might not be that bad but to listen to the whole album is a quest.

I think its a fantastic album. Port of Morrow on the other hand I can't recall getting through it once.

Dig Out Your Soul
The only songs from this album I would play are Falling Down and The Shock Of The Lightnings (and maybe "Waiting For The Rapture" too)

I love the Shins and I think all their albums are worth complete listens. And you don't like Simple Song? It's Only Life, September...I could go on and on. Different strokes, I suppose. Speaking of strokes, Under Cover Of Darkness on Angles.

Different Gear, Still Speeding
Four Letter Word is incredible, best Gallagher rocker since the nineties for me but the rest album (barring a few tracks) is just poorly produced, half-finished songs imo

I think you have to smoke pot to like Angles. Which I do, by the way. Like Angles, that is. And the other thing.

I only listened once, in the car and was so disappointed by it I've been scared to try it again. Must do so, soon.

Wincing the Night away had a few decent songs, it was just all too samey for me to really like it, not really fair of me to put it in the same league as Port of Morrow. not a huge fan of the shins i guess Also: Life is simple in the moonlight is the highlight of angles, and Machu Picchu is up there too.

Aerosmith. - done within mirrors -- First lp they made with joe perry returning. Album sucked IMO but cover was cool and " let the music do the talkin " was worth the 5.99 or 4.99 I paid .
