I remember putting my two cents in about this when the album came out.
I can't stand self titled albums. It's just lazy and uninspiring. Now, if he names his next album "Part II" then I'll maybe understand and let it slide. But for now, I can't help but dwell on this matter, and think what Noel let pass him by.
"Streets Ahead, Miles Behind" This one can still be used of course, but I always thought this would've been a great counter to Beady Eye's "Different Gear, Still Speeding".
"Somewhere In Between" Idk, if I heard this from someone else, but I do remember mentioning it as the album was coming out. This one would've been so fitting to the situation. Noel stuck between his past, Oasis, and his future, HFB.
"Over the Sunset, On the Horizon" If it were up to me, this would've been my choice. Of course, derived from WAL, but what can be seen over the sunset, and on the horizon? That's right, birds! I know it paints too clear of a picture, but oh well.. No harm done.

Perfect name for Noel's first or any upcoming releases... Noel Gallagher - _______________________(Fill in the blank space with whatever you like. That's probably the only way the "fans" will ever be satisfied. )

I don't have a problem with High Flying Birds, i think sounds pretty original...
but i do like something that Noel says at the end of the gigs, and in his blog which is "see you somewhere down the road". I think SDTR would sound great and I actually may steal it for my band =)

I still don't really like the idea of him creating a band name for his solo project. Id rather him just have put it under his own name, but it doesnt matter at the end of the day.

The album should have been a Noel Gallagher album called High Flying Birds I think, rather than a Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds...

I think "The Death of You and Me" would have made for a great album name. And since he doesn't have a "band", at least, not one that has any sort of permanence/creative input, he should just bill himself as Noel Gallagher.

He went with the best choice commercially.
Another good one would be "A guitar, Cigarettes & a kettle" but I reckon he's saving that for when he releases a collection of acoustic tracks hopefully including Don't Stop The Happening, Just Let It Down Over Me, The Dying Of The Light, If There's A God and an alternative version of If I Had A Gun done similar to the legendary sound check.
