Anyone got the new album? Really enjoying. Thought their last album sounded tired, and underproduced I thought but this is a return to form in every true sense. They're a guitar band and the riffs are back in full flow and they sound poppier, more energetic than the last one, sometimes in short demand after they tried synths at times on Tonight.
It's a really fun and quirky record in my opinion.

All their songs sound the same to me I did see them once opening for U2 and they were ok. Pretty loud, though

Really am enjoying this one though. Riff heavy and guitars at the forefront of the music, just how I like it after the tepid sounding Tonight.

So catchy!!!! Never seen them live but it is certainly something I need to press on with. Bullet is also my favourite of that album.

Excellent album. I was one of the few who actually quite liked Tonight. They've released the best song called Evil Eye this year....

Interesting to exhume a 2013 thread for this but I quite like the two new songs, I like Billy Goodbye more but both are enjoyable. Gonna see them this spring, look forward to it - the energy in their songs is unmatched.

Interesting to exhume a 2013 thread for this but I quite like the two new songs, I like Billy Goodbye more but both are enjoyable. Gonna see them this spring, look forward to it - the energy in their songs is unmatched. Did they release a best of or greatest hits recently. The new songs were good. I still don't think they've ever come close to topping their debut, every song on that album was single worthy. That really was one of the better albums from that early 00's indie run of 2001 to 2006 when you got a great indie or rock album every month it felt. Following albums were still very good but for me a bit more patchy. I actually think their album with Sparks, FFS. Was probably my favourite work of the band after their debut. They are really great live, I don't know if it's the same with the new members but I've seen them a bunch of times when Nick McCarthy and Paul Thomson were in the band. They've sort of slipped into the supporting act during the last few times I saw them (I remember they supported The Killers the last time I saw them) but they can still pull in a decent crowd for their gigs.
