to clear this up for american fans, hmv is a top music retailer in england. This is not some false advertisement by a low company.
the item is not being sold it is up for pre-order.

Columbiah's point is still valid, however. I remember HMV having "The Ear Has No Memory" as the title of the record based on Noel mentioning it in a couple of interviews. Seems to me as though HMV doesn't take long to attempt to make some money out of pre-sales, as soon as they see half a report on a half reputable news site, they'll have a pre-order link on the website. If it doesn't come out, then they'll just refund the money out of people who've pre-ordered, they don't lose anything through it.

surely they must have been in contact with the record company in some way to come out with a release date. what record company? cos Oasis contracr with sony is over and they are not resigning and there's been no news about any new deal being signed........ imo this is bs I remember there was a rumour in 2004 that Oasis would release the album on sept 04 and a few days later they had a preorder link for it with the date being Sept 06-04 which ended up being the release date for the DM DVD.... then we had the ear has no memory as has already been explained.
