Is that Liam on backup vocals? I can't think of any other time Liam sang backup for Noel, but my brother insists its Liam.

I haven't heard it - is it good?
Liam does backing vocals on D'Yer wanna Be A Spaceman?, the studio version.

It's definitely Liam, though I believe it was recorded on the day (i.e. not sampled from the original Fade Away), as that was part of the deal with the whole 'Help' album project, that the bands woudl record their contributions all on one day (on the same day) and the album would be rush-released afterward. I don't think Liam did backing vocals on DYWBAS? either, as far as I am aware the Warchild version of Fade Away is the only song he does this on. There were some minor ructions about this at the time as Liam threw a strop about Noel insisitng on taking the lead vocal. This may well be a reason (along with his own "I'm the singer, I do the singing" attitude) that they never tried this again).
Personally I actually really like how it sounds, I think it's an interesting combination the band should make more use of. Unfortunately with the egos or dynamic being what it is whenever Noel steps up to the mic Liam leaves the stage, which is a real shame.

You're right though, I can never, ever see this happening again. I'm surprised enough it happened the first time.

Actually, it's Lisa Moorish (the real one, not me! She was a mate of the band back in the day, which led to Liam knocking her up.

heh that's cool.
I love how it sounds.
Liam couldn't do it now. He doesn't have enough range to be backup.
They should have back in the day though.

Liam's provided backing vocals for an Echo and the Bunnymen song 'Nothing Lasts Forever' back in 1997. Check it out.
