Okay I've only heard 1 minute 30 of the bonus tracks but from that I think BE could (maybe) be improved with those tracks included for a few of the weaker album tracks. Just a bit of hypothetical fun, but what do you think of this tracklist? 1. Flick of the Finger 2. Soul Love 3. The World's Not Set In Stone 4. Back After The Break 5. I'm Just Saying 6. Off At The Next Exit 7. Soon Come Tomorrow 8. Iz Rite 9. Ballroom Figured 10. Start Anew That is a beautiful little album with no weak tracks ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) very understated but hey, think it would sound great as an album With singles being 1st: Flick of the Finger as a teaser 2nd: I'm Just Saying as the first official single 3rd: Iz Rite 4th: Soon Come Tomorrow

Hey, cool idea. I actually agree with almost all of those....Shine A Light definitely has to go, I liked Face the Crowd but will admit it's a weaker song on the album compared to the bonus tracks you swapped them with. Only thing I'd change is get rid of Ballroom Figured (since adding the bonus tracks would put enough ballads on the album and that song is good but not great) and bring back 2nd Bite. Even though I hate that song as a single I like it as an album track.

I don't get the dislike for shine a light, got a don't believe the truth atmosphere about it, I definitely consider it a single, it could even of been the lead but each to their own.

Fair enough, In my opinion though Shine A Light is b-side material (the intro is great though) and Ballroom Figured is just an amazing little tune. Fast becoming one of my favourite Beady Eye songs

Yeah the intro to Shine A Light is great, I just think the song is too long and too much like DGSS (reminds me of Beatles & Stones in a way which I really don't like that song). 1. Flick of the Finger 2. Soul Love 3. Face The Crowd 4. Second Bite Of The Apple 5. Soon Come Tomorrow 6. Off At The Next Exit 7. Iz Rite 8. I'm Just Saying 9. Back After The Break 10. Evil Eye ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/A9bL_RjIN9bOhnrQxKjN.gif) 11. Ballroom Figured 12. Of course. It's a beautiful ballad, with an organ and strings. Great vocals by Liam. Have a dark atmosphere, too. It's like a well-worked Soul Love. Don't Believe The Truth ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/7QKGdm487eYnX65W8w0g.gif)

They are nice songs, but I think most of them are b side material, good b side material as usual with the Gallaghers, but b side material anyway.
And I think they sound too 60's, like on DGSS, especially WNSTIS and GIU and EE, they just sound so Beatles. I don't think they would fit the album at all.
As for BATB, I think it sounds like a Robbie William's song and Liam doesn't sound like himself on it.
OATNE is the best of it, but I'm not blown away by any means, we're far from star anew on it. I get why it's not on the album it would break the flow of the album, there would be too much midtempo and a lack o variety like on Noel's album.
In the end, WNSIS would have been ok on the album but with another production.
Do we know if Sitek produced them too? I'm not sure he did them all.

I agree World's Not Set In Stone doesn't sound like Sitek produced it, it smacks of Lillywhite's production. I could be wrong, but it's a shame if so, the song is a 6 or 7 out of 10 and could be an 8 with that melody and better vocals + production (basically the story of DGSS). His vocals sound very much like they did on DGSS, way too much effects on them. That's why I prefer the live version, Liam's vocals on words like "Gonna look them straight in the eeeeeyyyyyeeee" sound much better. A delivery similar to the rest of BE with less effects would improve the song.
Nitpicking though, it's still a good tune

The best part of this song is the ending and guitar solo. Everything else is very standard. Very simplistic. I'm glad it is a bonus track or future b-side.

I like the intro too - do I hear sitars? I believe they are sitars! They can either be over used or under used. I think Beady Eye pulled them off on this album.

In fact, I have a feeling Sitek didn't produce any of the bonus tracks except maybe Dreaming of Some Space. If you listen there are none of his earmarks on those tracks. They sound like either leftovers from DGSS or tracks Beady Eye recorded and produced themselves with Gem mixing. Or maybe Mark Stent finished off these tracks as they were with him towards the end of finishing the album

I'd only swap Ballroon Figured with Off At The Next Exit and keep it like that.

I think their record company shut them down on that one. Save all their tunes for proper albums. Just a theory since we know Evil Eye has been around since early 2007 pre DOYS sessions. Who knows. Fun to speculate. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

I think it's common for Beady Eye to work on their b-sides separately, I think they did this for DGSS. I think even Oasis would work on b-sides themselves as opposed to during album sessions. Although Evil Eye & Girls In Uniform could be from the album sessions.
In another thread, someone who has the album says Jeff played bass on tracks 1-11, 16 & 17. This led me to believe that they were done with Sitek or maybe even earlier.
Also gotta say, I don't get this hate for Shine A Light, not the best tune on the album and possibly a minute too long but that intro is beautiful then the tune is unexpected and groovy.
Bass is rocking, as it is on all the tunes (Well in Jeff) and it's got an aggression. Reminds me a bit of Turn Up The Sun meets Mucky Fingers.

Now that I've heard the full album I'd have the track listing as this:
1. Flick Of The Finger 2. Soul Love 3. Evil Eye 4. Second Bite Of The Apple 5. Soon Come Tomorrow 6. Iz Rite 7. I'm Just Saying 8. Don't Brother Me 9. Girls In Uniform 10. Off At The Next Exit 11. Start Anew
Now I've left Face The Crowd, Ballroom Figured and Shine A Light off, that doesn't mean I don't like them tunes, I really like them but I think the songs that have replaced them are better.
