ok so whats peoples thoughts on a covers album? oasis have already done afew covers so should they ever bring out an album? If so what other covers should they do? obviously theyve already done afew beatles songs so i dont think we want anymore of them as oasis are already crticised for their influences.
The Beatles - I Am The Walrus The Who - My Generation Slade - Cum On Feel The Noize The Beatles - Help (Noel) The Jam - Carnation (Liam and Ocean Colour Scene)
the above could all be included.

blur-vaginary house - on tcp verve-space in time - would sound mega with liam singing it sex pistols - pretty vavagina - again animals - we gotta get out of this place - liam playin the organ and noel singing peter green - man of the world - noel by himself since he gets all girly when he hears it the wurzels - i am a ciderdrinker - bit of a novelty in the vain of boneheads bankholiday but funkyer with gem playing the harmonica and andy the autoharp take that - back for good - come onnnnnnn roses - sugarspun sister - tony mccarroll can sing this one some janis joplin song on southern comfort my head is spinning oh and i'm too sexy by those egghead tossers

Nail. Hit. Head. That supposed Cat Stevens cover that goes around on the internet is a fake.

I think that 'Trouble' by Cat Stevens is not Noel.

Noel once said that he thought releasing a covers album was one of the most sinister things a band could do, so I doubt it would ever happen.
Also, some of their covers are of a certain period in the band's history, and don't really last beyond that point. '...Feel the Noize' was great at the time, but would they stand by it now? And the time for 'I Am The Walrus' is over; sure, it was an important part of the live set, but the band has moved on from it.

as Dom says, this would be career suicide
but i would love them to do a cover of Modern World by The Jam
just to hear Liam spit out the lyrics:-
I know where I am and going too It’s somewhere I won’t preview Don’t have to explain myself to you I don’t give two fucks about your review
in the most venomous, gutteral, glottal stopping, nasal whine he could muster

I'll agree that it's a bad move. Having them as b-sides (IATW and My Generation) were fair play, but anything else is just not a great idea

Ah, should've figured that wasn't Noel on Trouble. I had my doubts...still a good song.

How about Noel get his shit together quickly and make another Oasis album quickly. They have a dozen of ready songs for another album. It shouldn't take so much work in the studio to finish it once they reconvene.
