is it just me or is noel becoming more and more arrogant with oasis fans. Noel states that he owes fans nothing, thats bullshit without us fans he and his band would be nothing. While in Australia i met noel and liam got a pic with liam and an autograph, he is really cool and easy to talk to and thanked me for going to the concert. on approaching noel i get "oh what do u want" then after asking for a simple autograph i was greeted like i just asked him to give blood and said he was busy and that he dont do autographs. Thanks noel live4ever.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=DBTT&action=display&thread=1134642609by the way i had my owe pen and it was a poster not a cigerette packet

Id love to see Noels point of view but i just cant Hes always said that he would never turn down someone for an autograph, how things have changed. Without the fans he wouldnt be nowt. He'd still be sitting in his shed giving out tools to the gas fitters writing songs. Not a record breaker, idol to millions and rich muddafunka! It only takes 2 fuckin secs, its part of the job, Liam seems happy to it.

U probably just got him on a bad day or something tho... Liam, as well as Gem and Andy r definitely more up 4 doing that kinda stuff, and just really easy to chat too and have a drink with... but Noel's alright too... met him in both Sydney and Melb, and when i asked him 4 a pic in Sydney, he patted the couch next to where he was sitting and told me to sit with him... Liam pounced up 4 a photo... told me to get a pic with him first, before Noel, and then the boys were looking through my mobile and stuff, cos i got a msg and i've got turn up the sun as my msg tone, and Liam jumped up and started playing air guitar to it, before asking me all about it and looking at my oasis screensavers on phone etc, and Noel's asking me how i got all that stuff on my phone, and they were both baffled by the stuff mobiles cn do nowadays... lol... Anyway, I'm crapping on now... but when i saw Noel it was a good day obviously, and he was great fun... And him and Liam were mucking about... everyone has bad moments, just a shame u got him on one of his!!

Cheers mate. My mobile is quite crappy, but nevertheless I am not that kinda guy to put different shits on my mobile. It's too much work for my nerves. Anyways, cheers. "Turn Up the Sun" is a top notch tune.

It's too bad... but he's really stepping down as the Chief.... look at the role reversal of Noel and Liam

Noel seems like he is ready to be doing stuff like Clapton & others do by doing charity gigs and collaborations.
Noel IS NOT madferit.
Since 2001 Noel has 11 songs on albums and he had 32 on albums plus Whatever from 94-97.
The B sides also went from usually 3 to 2 the last two albums and some of those have been live recordings of old songs.

this is noel on a downward spiral as the tour drags on.. he's moody and I am sure sleep deprived and homesick..
I remember when the N. American tour kicked off. listened to several radio interviews with him. he was very mild, grateful and humble sounding. saying how he was surprised and taken back by the sold out shows i.e. NYC, philadelphia, etc. Was thankful for the fans support and he felt lucky after all these years..
When I meet him I know he will talk to me.. so...
funny looks like Liam is the one this time around "holding it together ?" (knock on wood.)

The B sides also went from usually 3 to 2 the last two albums thats because 4 track singles are counted as EPs (-> album charts) since 99 or 2000 or so.. ontopic: i'm not a autograph hunter myself and couldnt care less whether noel is animated to be photographed with his fans..i "demand" good live performances and good records cos i pay him for that.

I'm no mind reader but my theory on why Noel has changed with this autograph stuff is because of eBay. He's mentioned before that he doesnt blame fans for asking for a quick signature and turning and selling it on eBay, but I think that was a bit sarcastic and in reality it pisses him off that people are just turning around and selling shit. This, I agree with and I would do exactly what he does probably after 10 years of it. But at the same time the fans are the reason hes a fucking multi-millionaire. You can make all the records and get all the critical acclaim you want but without fans buying your LPs and selling out venues across the world, you have no 50 million pound bank acount and chocolate brown rolls royce.
Cheers

Funnily enough, he doesn't have that rolls royce anymore because he sold it on ebay.

Taking into consideration it's the buying power of the fans around the world that gave Oasis and all the other rock bands of the world their success, you have to admit that we can be a bit overbearing at times. And not just with Noel and Liam... with ALL celebs. Look at Noel and Liam... I'm sure it's hard for them to trust anyone, for any wrong move could wind up as a front page story on the front of some British tabloid. My point is that we put too much pressure on these people. THEY'RE FREAKIN' HUMAN! They have a right to privacy! And please... come off your high horse. Oasis were doomed for success. The only British band that got ANYWHERE by NOT saying they were the best band in the world (major names, anyway), were the Beatles. Look at the Who, the Stones, OASIS, etc... they all got to legendary status today not only because of their natural talents, but because of the hype that surrounded them. Fans seem to objectify themselves as the reason their favorite band exists... stop. I've met Angus and Malcolm Young, and Steven Tyler. The former, I met up in a gas station, the latter walking through a hotel lobby. I am proud to say I treated both the Youngs and Tyler with the upmost respect...that is not slapping them in the face with the "Can I get a picture" or "Can I get your autograph" lines. With the Youngs, I spent about 20 minutes talking about the tour and their latest album (which was Stiff Upper Lip, brand new at the time). With Steven, I simply gave him a high five and told him I really liked the new album (which at the time was Just Push Play). They're just human. Realize that, and miracles can happen.

Thanks noel live4ever.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=DBTT&action=display&thread=1134642609by the way i had my own pen and it was a poster not a cigarette packet On the whole, I can appreciate someone having a bad day or not being in the mood to meet their fans, or getting the shits with meeting fans all the time, but the article you've linked to really annoys me. It's one thing to be grumpy with a few fans, it's another to generalise and say the fans "get on my tits", and as for saying "I don't mind signing album covers, but if you're gonna come up with a bit of fag packet and ask me to sign it, I'll tell you to go and buy an album", this sounds like a chance encounter - we can't all go carrying albums & pens around on the off chance that we might meet Noel Gallagher in the street. Really! I think he's just become a bit too cynical - he's all too aware that people are gonna go & sell it on Ebay & make a profit off his success, but not every fan is like that. He's forgetting the fans who've queued up in places for hours with their copy of the record to sign, in the hope of meeting someone who's been their inspiration. A lot of this depends on where you meet them - I got to meet Noel & got him to sign my tour program, but this was outside the Hordern, where we'd waited about 3 hours. It was obvious to him we were devoted fans and I'm relieved that he was well-mannered when he met us because we weren't invading his space, like showing up at his hotel or following him around Sydney or anything. I don't think he owes his fans anything for getting him to where he is, but I think he should be more aware that for so many fans, a meeting with the band is very exciting & special. It's fine to say 'We have this relationship where they buy the records and I make the records for them to buy. Do I want to be anybody's friend? Not really', but I think he's lost sight of a few things.
