I heard that Do You Know What I Mean? was inspired by the NWA song Straight Outta Compton. I couldnt believe this because I love oasis and HATE rap music. Is this fact or fiction??

I dunno about that song specifically, but Noel has been quoted as sayong that the initial mix od DYKWIM was "like a hip hop track" (I think he means the mix as regards the drums). However they then went "down the pub" and when they came back turned it into a more rock-style version.
Personally I have always felt that was a nugget of truth surrounded by a bit of hyperbole as Noel was, at the time, pretty stung by the criticisms of BHN as not being a musical advancement for the band and was saying things along the lines of "Oh yeah, well I did all this experimental stuff in the studio but then I changed my mind and just made it sound the same as usual".

When Noel was a guest DJ on a radio station once, he played 'Straight Outta Compton' by NWA.
I like the late 80's early 90's rap.
The stuff today SUCKS!!!!

Old school hip hop was awesome.
Modern rap is all about commercialism. There is a difference between rap and hip hop. Rap is just about the singing. Hip Hops about the turn tables, instrumentation, etc.
Rap today sucks. Shitty beats with some cocksucker singing about being a thug.
I like De La Soul

I don't remember where you'd find the quote but Noel has said the lyrics for DYWIM started out as a rap that he was just doing around the pub. Liam just raps through most of the song anyway.
I hate rap as well but if it's in the right context I can like it. Beck rapped on Odelay and it was one of my favorite albums before I even knew Noel remixed Devil's Haircut as a b side.
But it all makes little difference to me personally, he could've mixed inspiration from polka records and Gregorian chant, as long as I like the end result.
