I reckon that DBtT would be far greater if we had Whitey on the drumming stool . The point with Oasis is that the Liam is such a great vocalist and Gem is such a great guitarist that they are overshadowing everyone in the band. Even Zak with his stupid drumming is nowhere near them.

It's funny how in the original line up, none of them were that good technically. Noel was average at guitar at best. However, he knew how to write songs, and Liam sounded fucking great. I think now Noel is the better singer. Liam's shit now. Gem and Andy haven't really added much as far as guitar goes to the band. I liked it before when bonehead did the rhythem. Loud and he loved his barre chords. And of course, Noel did the lead. Gem and Andy are slightly better than Noel. If they are really that much better, I'd love to hear it. i agree with you. overall, and probably coems from my non-musical background - but to hell with fuckin musical technique. its not as if oasis music is so technically complicated that it requires fantastic musicians. i honestly do believe that definitely maybe is absolutely perfect, and that it would not have been better has andy and gem been in the band then. maybe what makes it so fuckin perfect is the fact it isnt so smooth and professional, but its raw and its honest.

Gem and Noel, not sure who's technically better, but I do know who's written some of the best guitar solos of all time.. and it's not Gem. Whitey was probaly better than Zac, but if he prefers to hang out with his girl - fuck him, he deserves to go. I hope he wants back in one day, so can tell him to fuck off one more time.

I mean from "live" point of view. I've watched live concerts from Manchester last year and others and I definitely think that Gem is great guitarist to the point that he is far greater than Noel. I haven't seen Andy handle guitar duties in live, but Gem is great. I met a chap, who shared the same thoughts - great vocalist, great guitar players and stupid drummer, who cannot keep time.

Gem is a better guitar player then Noel, just watch him play lead when Noel left the group in 2000. Zak is better then ALan, he reminds me of Keith Moon but without the facil expressions. He is the best drummer I have ever seen live.

technically Gem is a better guitar player, but if you listen to Gems old tunes and compare the guitar parts in the tunes with the guitar parts in Noels tunes I think we all say the same thing - Noels sounds better, right? so wouldn't that make Noel a better guitar player then Gem? because of his ways of creating new music with the guitar? I would say so. That's just what i think...

Making facil expression doesn't make you a great drummer. I make them all the time, but that doesn't make me great drummer in the least. Also, Zak sometimes make a facial expressions like pursing his lips. It's quite funny in fact. He also has nice haircut, but that doesn't urge me to love him and his lack of timing.

agree with above, im listening to Bring It On Down from dublin 2003 at the mo and alans drumming kicks ass, gets all the right fills when needed = quality!!!! zack will never get close! I don´t think I have ever heard Alan doing Bring it on down, so I can´t say anything about that, but in my opinion Zaks drumming on that song is absolutely fantastic! He get´s raw energy to it. I´m not drumming expert or anything but I think that Oasis has been very lucky because Alan has been on band and Zak is now. Both are great. Just think, that things could be much worse, if Tony would be still in the band (allthough he did good job on DM). Just my thoughts.
