I think their britpop era is well and truly over - which is okay, I think by the Great Escape they had pretty much exhausted all they had there. Blur 13 and Think Tank don't have too much in common, plus a massive break means there won't be much of a clue as to their new sound. I'm thinking 13 in the lack of cohesion between songs and themes - although I doubt they'd get as experimental as that again. Under The Westway is more of a Britpop effort so I was wondering whether they would lean towards that - it's got that whole London centric feel to it in the lyrics, so I was wondering whether they'd take a middle aged, yearning look at English life - you know, contrasting it with the sprightly young ones from their Britpop efforts. It's possible. I'm only speculating, I would just imagine that as musicians they are mostly past that - and that Under the Westway/The Puritan was more of a single for the fans.

Blur is a great band, I liked how they fused Madness, XTC and The Kinks very well.
I think Blur fans are more bitter toward Oasis than otherwise.

I'm not the biggest fan, but I do enjoy pretty much all of their albums, especially Parklife, Think Tank, and 13. I managed to catch them at Coachella this year, they really are fantastic live. Probably up there in my top five favorite shows ever!

I think Blur fans are more bitter toward Oasis than otherwise. Well they would be, wouldn't they Seriously though, I hope something comes of the rumors. Great band.
