An another new band which I'm very interested in:
Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs.
I've read that their music is similar to Television/The Velvet Underground. I'm seeing them next week, so I'm curious.

Their first single, I Watch You, is great. A few of new bands I really like are Embers, Peace and The Heartbreaks.
Embers sound like a cross between Sigur Ros and The Verve Peace The Heartbreaks sound like The Smiths and Orange Juice

I love Orange Juice! They're my all time favourite band. It's great to see Edwyn Collins still be able to create/play music these days. Their "Blue Boy" is kind of my theme song. I've seen Peace at London Calling last November. and I'll check Embers. cross between Sigur Ros (love them!) and The Verve can't be wrong. Thanks for the recommendation, kingcrawler.

It was Edwyn Collins who produced The Heartbreaks album, clearly a big influence.
Embers are similar to Sigur Ros' darker, heavier side, e.g. untitled 8, Glosoli, Brennisteinn.

Some good bands in this thread, only one I haven't heard of is Charlie Boyer & the Voyeurs but considering who you said they sound like you've caught my interest so I gotta listen to them now.
Another new one you guys might like is Parquet Courts. Would post link but I'm on my phone and Youtube slows it down/takes 10 years to load.

I'm seeing Charlie Boyer & The voyeurs at London Calling among with lots of new bands next week. I also listened to the second album by Unknown Mortal Orchestra, but only first 2 songs got me... Thanks for the recommendation, Teal. I'll look for Parquet Courts.

I liked the first 3 songs from the debut album by Palma Violets, but the rest of the album need more guts. I agree with that.. I thought of getting the album but realized I get bored after those first 3 (& We Found Love later on in the album is good but not great). They're decent though. Not every debut album has to be amazing so I'm hoping they will still release some good stuff. Their new track I listened to on Spotify I really like....California-something. Might be a b-side though.

Two great new U.K. bands to check out - Towns, who have an EP called "Sleepwalking" and a couple of singles, and Tripwires, who will be releasing their debut album, "Spacehopper" in June. A few bands with a couple of singles, as well:
Temples Coves Stellify Hollow Giants Young*Husband Echo Raptors Royston Vasie Bypassers The Wicked Whispers
I'm also looking forward to the Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs when it comes out next week.

Temples are really something (I've said it on here so often, so people must have got tired of hearling it).
The debut album of Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs is out 2 days ago here. Looking forward to see them this weekend.

Looking forward to see them this weekend. Did you see that "Colours To Life," the new Temples single, is available to download on iTunes? Also, all three of Charlie Boyer's singles have unreleased B-sides. Just an FYI.

I did see them back in January, I wanted to buy their first EP, but it was sold out months ago. I'm seeing Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to buy their single or album.

Just saw Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs and Swim Deep on Friday. They were both ok. I've had more expectations for Charlie's to be honest. Their outfit was great (very 70's). I think they need a lot more gig experiences. I still need to get their debut album cos produced by Edwyn Collins can't be wrong.
One of the new bands I've seen past 2 days at London Calling called "The Family Rain" was a nice surprise. Their music was like a mixture of Black Keys and BRMC. Another band called "Team Ghost" (a French band) wasn't bad although they had quite good songs, but also dull songs.

Think this thread deserves a bump. Had there been any new stuff people have come across over the summer. Id recommend "The Hot Sprockets", little band from Dublin. Very good!
