Be Here Now gets ridiculed, I believe, mostly because it followed MG and DM.
What do you think the reaction were to be for the following if they were realeased after MG (the Brit Pop Heyday)
SOTSOG HC DBTT
I think HC would have been accepted the best as it had more radio friendly singles (which MG was even over DM) and SOTSOG would have been received the worst b/c of how dark it was.
DBTT would have been listed as a good record but not up to snuff and instead of being looked at as a return to form as it is now, it would have been said it was 'ok', but where are the anthems.

Surley the reason BHN is ridiculed is coz its not very good? ;D No, seriously, what I mean is the hype surrounding its release here in the UK was unbelievable. You had to be here at the time. The title of the album says it all - Be Here NOW. From around the start of 1996 until the BHN period, Oasis were as big as The Beatles here. They were everywhere. After DM and MG, the battle with Blur and all the gigs getting bigger and bigger until it all culminated at Knebworth. Everyone was expecting BHN to be the next revolver, an absolute masterpiece, and initially, thats what all the reviews said, it got better reviews then MG did when it was released. But then all the hype died down and everyone realised that, well it wasnt the next revolver. Guess what Im trying to say is BHN was the biggest let-down in British musical history and thats the reason its ridiculed.

barren of wasteland aye? coming from a guy who lives in florida - home of swamp land and various hurricanes. nice one poof. all im saying is. who cares? this topic has come up a billion times before in a billion other threads. figure it out yourself. its a gay topic anyway. and by the way.... more people are interested in what songs are being played at soundcheck, than which album caused which global catastrophe on which parallel or some other intellectual observation you are trying to make. just listen to the record. if you knew anything about the brit pop era, then you would know why be here now wasnt as good as it should have been. and why sotsog is so dark. its not fucking rocket science mate. ... pfft. trying to re-shuffle the order or albums. haha. get a job mate and stop recycling the same old rubbish on here (in the wrong forum i might add too).

Some people like to talk about it little aston boy.
Every post on here except new tour dates or Liam and Noel quotes are basic rehashes of something similiar before so get a life instead of attacking peoples posts. Other people like to respond to in a mture matter you f*ucking little boy.
I think I know abit more about the brit pop era than you do. What were you 10? Mom let you stay up a little late to watch Wonderwall on TV back then?
I've looked at your other posts......angry youn man aren't you.
Go get laid.
Hurricanes huh? Ok, well I rode out that nice Earthquake back in 1990 that hit Newcastle....oh yes I was there in your town of Sydney.
Go to inet with all the kiddies if your gonna just attack other members.

this is some funny shite. first of all... i dont know what the hell you are going on about newcastle for. some earthquake. whats that got to do with sydney? or florida? you fucking illiterate fuck. "...when i was in oz back in 1990". who cares mate. no one gives a fuck about you or your travel itinerary. all us aussies hate you yanks coming over here cause you bring all your shit with you. all you do is complain about how there's no starbucks or sugar on you quarter pounder's. "america... the fattest nation of all". well done. since oasis dont want to travel to your shithole florida, looks like ronald mcdonald did. you fat bastard.
what are you basing this "you are a young kid" on? must be one of your highly intellectual american observations... just like those Weapon's of Mass Distruction aye? poof!
I dont just attack any post. If you could read properly (considering you guys have a endless succession of schools and colleges and universities and prep schools and all the other rubbish you publish in your fake hollywood movies, you should be able to read to a decent standard). I only attacked your post because it means nothing. and the fact that only two people have responded to your brainiac thread implies that this isnt the magnificent "Davinci code" thread that you invisioned it to be. It is a figment of your imagination, and in plain english... this thread is a waste of time. you have replied in 4 out of the 9 posts on this thread - well done. you care. good work. the other posts either have nothing to do with the topic or are trying to put the "yankee back in his seat". congratulations, you have succeeded in representing USA - projecting nothing but the same old american bullshit.
peace!

Give it a rest. Poof (what the fuck is that??). By the way it's 'destruction' not 'distruction'. Actually if every Aussie hated us so much, they sure did fake it the whole time I was there. Maybe your the only angry one. Need to hug a Koala man. I guess those 'fake' Hollywood movies that you watch we're right about education. Peace, Love & Bananas

OK mate. since your arguement has no substance behind it, you have stooped to a low level and have began to pick out spelling mistakes. well done. you are very wise. lets have a go at what you have written then: "... I guess those 'fake' Hollywood movies that you watch we're right about education.". now... either you have mis-spelt "we're" and meant to say "were" or you just cannot write a sentence which is coherent. well done fuck face. now lets move on... every aussie was really nice to you when you were here last were they? thats great news. the truth of the matter is we like to take the piss out of you americana's because you just have no sense of humour or any idea about anything. you idiots come over here thinking there's kangaroo's jumping around everywhere, and big bridges which link sydney to auckland... you wouldnt have a clue what happens outside your own geographical borders because all you learn about is the grand canyon or some other rubbish. the grand canyon is shite. its just a hole. you keep referring to this earthquake in newcastle, when the san andreas fault line is the cause of much bigger earthquakes on a more frequent scale. so im not sure what you are trying to say here... something involving a kettle, a pot, and the colour (spelt color in your gay country) black i presume. meanwhile... the lack of objective posts being posted on this thread is more evidence that no one really cares about you or what you have to say. and no one cares about your your travel diary to australia in the 80's. by the way... hows george bush going? has he worked out the meaning of 'soverignty' yet? can he write a decent speech yet? oh... wait a minute, i forgot... he has someone write his speeches for him. thats the story of you americans - delegation. someone always does the dirty work for you. just like your navy: you have three times as many people onboard your ships because you cannot multi-task. and your football: the quarter back throws. the reciever catches. the punter kicks... to propose that one person should do more than one job would be outrageous! get an education. you are the third world of the west. "peace, love and bannanas" !! ... you really are a bender arent you? i knew it all along mate sayonara

"Peace Love & Bananas" is a Noel quote. I thought you would know that as an Oasis fan! Ouch.
'Receiver' not 'reciever'. 'I' before 'E' except acfter 'C'. Don't they teach that down there?
I was in Australia in 1990. Ayers rock is just a rock. Which wouldn't take up much space in the Grand Canyon.
I brought up Earthquakes b/c you brought up Hurricanes. Fair play matey (sounds gay...matey).
You haven't had ONE intelligent post. I've read them. Cussing people out about football teams. That's about all you have.
I have been posting on here a lot longer and have started some posts that have gone on for a long time. All you do is read someone else, come up with so childish comeback and then spend all your time bringing up useless facts on Navies, George Bushes Speeches and football comparisons. I'd have to say that no one cares about your useless trivia either. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dear NME,
"We started talking about recording a new Oasis album in November last year. We thought it would be a great idea to try something different with the production this time around, and Liam came up with the idea of using Death In Vegas as producers/mixers, which everyone believed would be a fantastic collaboration.
"We drew up a list of songs (10 in total), booked Sawmills Studio in Cornwall and gave ourselves three weeks. Unfortunately, after the recording process we decided we didn’t like anything we had played/recorded during those three weeks, and because of commitments with Death In Vegas, Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes couldn’t find any more time to give to the project. It was then decided we would attempt to finish off the record ourselves, which so far has proven quite frustrating and fruitless. All the while, new songs have been written and old ones have fallen away. So we think the 'moment' for that particular record has passed.
"We plan to start work on a new set of songs some time in July and we hope to have a new album out in February/March 2005, so hopefully you will hear some new tunes by the end of the year.
"As for the other two points you’ve raised, the one about separate dressing rooms, is as usual, laughable. And as for not watching Macca from the stage, all I can say is Liam and his friends did, and me and my friends prefer the shared experience of the masses to the privileged position of the few. Now if you don’t mind…
"Peace, love and bananas,
"Noel Gallagher."

"peace love and bananas"... noel said it. ok. congratulations. you've read more issues of nme than me. its a gay quote to remember. but lets leave it at that. id rather my brain remember more important things than noel's reference to banana's but thats just me.
the fact that ayres rock takes up less space than grand canyon is: 1) pretty fucking obvious 2) prettty fucking irrelevant 3) pretty fucking good. considering theyre both desert wastelands. you can have your big hole in the ground. have you built a starbucks there yet?
again... you continue to pick up on spelling mistakes. i thought i made it clear in my last post that you americans are already far superior in every facet to the rest of the world. well, thats what al quaeda begs to differ... KABLAMO!
by the way... whilst we are being picky, its not "george bushes speeches". i think you mean "george bush's..." but who knows, you americans change spelling and grammar everyday over there. you cant make your mind up on anything... mum - mom; colour - color; afghanistan - iraq. well we all know that you can get mixed up on things, but i mean seriously what the fuck is goin on with george bush? i can guarentee you now that if the rest of the world could vote in your election, then there is no way the republicans would be in office. i got nothing against arnold schwarzenegger ( im sure you can find a few spelling mistakes out of that one, nazi) but america is just becoming like a soap operah. movie stars from austria can ressurect their acting career by entering into politics. what a joke. ... speaking of oprah, i hear she is rumoured to be running for congress or some other rubbish political status. good luck to her. it will be another example of how serious your federal government really is. will she move her own show to the white house? who knows... stay tuned folks!
so... since you aparantly "won" the world wars for us- england, france et.al (even though the red army killed approximately 2/3 of every german soldier in WWII) i guess i had better leave your country alone and pay my debt to the "land of opportunity and 7/11's". i tell you what... i will buy a budwieser or some other revolting beer you guys make as a token of my patriotism to the stars and stripes.
but until then...
peace (love and bananas sounds silly)
