Best:
- Flick of the Finger, from the entrance of the horns to "in tiiiiiime". You get the horns, a nice guitar riff, the change in the drums and some of my favourite Beady Eye lyrics.
- The bass in the intro to The Beat Goes On. I don't know why, but I really like the bass sound in those first few seconds.
- The whole of Wigwam and Four Letter Word.
Worst:
- Some of Gem's lyrics: "Who wouldn't wanna bit? Who wouldn't wanna bit?" and Wind-Up Dream in general makes me cringe. Same goes for "Shake my tree, where's the apple for me?" and most of Standing on the Edge of the Noise.
- "Here's my glass and here's one for you, 'cos these dark glasses need something to do" makes me facepalm so hard every time I hear it.

I would agree with all of that, especially Flick of the Finger, Four Letter Word and those Kill For A Dream lyrics... I can't say anything about The Beat Goes On intro, I can't remember what it sounds like, I've not heard the record in about a year

BEST - Liam
WORST - the band, without Liam.

Best:
The kid on this board covering FOTF. SOTS - great, menacing riffing and love the echo effect on Liam's vocals, that's the type of sound I wished Beady Eye would go for more often. Could easily fit on Definitely Maybe alongside Columnia. TMS - brilliant instrumentations and production, chilling atmosphere the song has. It's almost perfect minus some of its lyrics. WOMR - strong melody, solid lyrics and good retro vibe. ITBWAB - First 2 minutes are the apex of the band's musical height so far. The last part is rubbish though. FLW - gets repetitive, but decent tune.
Worst: unfortunately, pretty much everything else. There's very little middle ground with this band. If it's not listenable then it's downright cringeworthy. Seriously makes you question how these supposed professional musicians making millions can come up with such mind numbing lyrics and think an album full of nursery-rhyme level melody lines can be considered good.

The highs:- Four Letter Word - Wigwam - The Morning Son - In The Bubble With A Bullet - The World Outside My Room - Sons of The Stage - David Letterman webcast June 2011 - Flick of The Finger - Second Bite of The Apple - The nipple album cover The Lows:- Kill For A Dream - Standing On The Edge of The Noize - The Beat Goes On The What The Fuck Moments:- Across The Universe (IMO terrible Liam vocal) - Terminal 5 gig in NYC December 2011 - Liam's squire haircut

Best:
i like them. i like there songs and yep they have fillers on the first album, don't know how the second one will be, cause i don't want to judge after 2 songs.
worst:
my main problem is, that they are too safe. their first tour was very limited, because they have just played their own tunes, which was brave, but let the show end after an hour is a bit disappointing. why not jamming on stage or making songs longer with intersting guitar work? the only song they expand was "sons of the stage" and that wasn't too interesting. remember the jams from the 2000 Oasis tour? were they added short bits of "Tomorrow never knows" or "Whole lotta love" to make stuff longer and had an i think 3 or 4 minute outro jam on Gas Panic and added a guitar solo to the end of Go let it out. I want something like this!

That is a good question. I honestly have no idea. I guess at their core, guys like Andy and Gem are just supporting characters. They don't have that extra quality to make them stars on the stage. It would be cool to see some Van Halen meets Wayne's World guitar solo jams. Those haven't been seen since the Be Here Now tour!

Best
Lyrics: Kill For A Dream - "Life's to short not to forgive, you can carry regrets but they won't let you live." The Morning Son - "You'll never know, unless you try..."
Drums: The Morning Son - Chris at the end always mega. Wigwam - All through out, I like how it fades out and then comes back with a steady bass drum.
Guitar:
In The Bubble With A Bullet - Love this song in general, but that slide is just great. Good moment for Beady Eye. Four Letter Word - Great riff, good solo.
Bass Guitar:
Man Of Misery - How can you not love that rhythm? The Beat Goes On - Reminds me a lot of Keep The Dream Alive, but with a lot more bass in the opening chords.
Intro:
Four Letter Word - Banging from the start, catchy, brilliant. The Beat Goes On - Another banging intro, I went it went more places from there, but oh well.
Most creative:
Flick Of The Finger - it is wild and fresh. Wigwam - Although a bit long, this is a classic. Good lyrics, good progression and love the eastern influences. The Morning Son - Slow builder, but so worth it. The guitars, the drums, the reverb, the piano, all great.
WORST
Lyrics:
Beatles And Stones - All of it. Wind Up A Dream - All of it.
Drums:
Second Bite Of The Apple - Sorry guys, but they are far to awkward for me. I have been very pleased with Chris's drums except for the one above.
Guitar:
Standing On The Edge Of The Noise - Not very creative here, seems recycled and it is hard enough with Liam's loud vocal mix that distracts you from the music. The Roller - Although I love the song, it was ripped from Instant Karma which makes it a bit unoriginal.
Bass Guitar - No issues with this one elsewhere.
Intro:
Wind Up A Dream - Makes me cringe. Bring The Light - Yeah, I can't stand that piano. Second Bite Of The Apple - Again, the drums, ughh.
Least Creative:
Beatles And Stones Wind Up A Dream Two Of A Kind
My take on the best and worst.

woa woa woa woa this is just too much. are people are really comparing Beady Eye to Nickleback?! what the fuck is wrong in this section of the forum? if you just have piss to say, leave god damn. i'm not saying beady eye is pure gold in case of songwriting but this link is hurting my eyes and should never be mentioned in relation with a gallagher.

Kill for a Dream = Just listen. I don't care if I've ruined it for you. Sorry, not hearing it. Chorus is different, verses are different. Progression is similar. But every song on this planet has a similar significant other.

Kill for a Dream = Just listen. I don't care if I've ruined it for you. I've always felt Kill For A Dream had a Nickelback meets 2000 era Better Than Ezra.
