So, which one do you like the most?
I love them both, but I think Flick of the Finger gets my vote, as it's so freaking cool.

I agree as well, Flick of the Finger is so bad ass. When I first heard it on that US radio station I got so excited, I couldn't believe it was Beady Eye!

Easy choice for me; Flick Of The Finger. SBOTA is close to being my least favourite Beady Eye track.

SBOTA. Never understood the love FOTF gets here. I didn't like it at first, there's litterely only 5 seconds of melody in it that is repeated the whole time. The "brass" rif and all is allright I guess.. I must say it's grown on me, now I quite like it. Whereas with SBOTA I had an instant "yeah" effect, groovy beginning, epic brass section, a melody that's worth at least something. Much better and much more catchy! (But apparently I'm the only one who thinks this here on this forum )

Both are extremely poor. But SBOTA is slightly poorer. I'd be afraid to say shite and shiter for fear of the post being removed

Flick of The Finger. The best Beady Eye track to date, on par with FLW. It's insanely epic if you listen to it when you're walking, or you're driving. Great tune.
SBOTA is not a bad song, it's still better than most of DGSS. Still, it's no way as cool as FOTF...
(all imho, obviously)

Flick of the Finger has really grown on me. Wasn't sure abut it at first. It's best played very fucking loud!

Really enjoy them both to be honest. Was unsure over flick of the finger at first but I really like it now. If I have to pick I'd go for second bite of the apple.

Flick of the Finger is effortlessly cool - Beady Eye's best tune, holding off The Morning Son. Second Bite of the Apple isn't great though. It's by no means their worst song but for me, it's not different enough.
I get the feeling one tune will set the trend for the album - god I hope it's Flick of the Finger.

Flick Of The Finger for sure! Second Bite Of The Apple is much weaker in comparison.

FOTF.
SBOTA I find pretty poor, and this is coming from someone who likes many BE/Oasis songs that many find shit. Odds are if its Gallagher, I almost usually like it. But SBOTA at this point is basically my third least favorite BE song only better than KFAD and SOTEOTN(yes that includes MOM and TOAK).
Maybe SBOTA isn't as bad as the two I mentioned in the brackets, but i find it a big let down for an opening single. It would be like if Mucky Fingers was the single over Lyla, which it almost was.
If SBOTA didn't have the show us you love now part, I'd rank it my least fave BE song. That part redeems it somewhat.

I'm pretty shocked by this. FOTF is the simplest vocal melody that any Oasis member has ever put out (before, during, or after being a member). And I don't even find the melody to be particularly good. Is the appeal all in the production? Or do people just dislike SBOTA that much?

And I don't even find the melody to be particularly good. Is the appeal all in the production? Or do people just dislike SBOTA that much? For me, FOTF is good, but not amazing. Many things good about it, nothing that really stands out other than production. But it sounds like a sign of things to come. If more songs sound like FOTF but build off it and are better, maybe more complex, I will love the album. If all the songs sound like SBOTA, I am worried. Many people have talked about the 60s rut. SBOTA sounds like the 60s rut with better production. I don't mind the 60s sound when it is more like the Roller or Wigwam. But when it is more like BTL, B&S and SBOTA, it gets a bit tiresome. FOTF sounds like a stepping stone into a more energetic direction with a progressive new sound. But it needs to be built upon. SBOTA is the same old rut.

SBOTA, it has more sonicscapes, has a richer song structure. It's more properly a "song". FOTF is too repetitive. The song is barely complete thanks to that quote in the end. Kick ass, but it's still a simple song, no chorus, no bridge, no nothing. Just a verse in loop.
