Just a thought... Is it possible that Come On Outside was not included on DOYS because it was too similar to The Turning? It has the same part of the chorus with; "Come Onnn" with the same choir singing over it. Furthermore, I still find it ridiculous that they didn't put it on the album because Liam was getting married. Surly they could have waited, or even had Noel just sing the version on the record, especially if it was supposedly going to be the lead single before SOTL...

Yeah that could be, but in my opinion, if they had to choose either one for the album, I'm glad they picked the Turning

Yeah I think the 'Come On' line would have been the decider. But The Turning is still a great song IMO.

considering that we only heard a demo versus a full album I think I'll take the full version.

I never realized how similar they sound until coincidentally placing them next to each other on a playlist...

The Turning, by FAR.
Come On Outside is a nice song, very catchy and all but its somewhat generic. The Turning is something else entirely.

The Turning is the better of the two songs. One of my favourites on DOYS. tbh Come on Outside didn't excite me that much when we heard it although I just listened to it again and I like it more than I remember. Maybe I just had really high expectations though. I like the baseline.

The bassline is brilliant, but the tune itself is nothing special. It's good but nothing we haven't heard before. To be honest, I think it's best consigned to history, or as a b-side because it is too Dig Out Your Soul like.
Freaky Teeth is a much better tune, and I wonder why they didn't put that one on Dig Out Your Soul instead. Like most Oasis albums post-1997, there's potential for a brilliant album, but as always, they fell way short and ended up with half baked albums as always. Bit of a piss take when you think it took around 3 years for fans to wait for just 6-7 decent tunes.
