Don't like the lyrics. The verses are crap. The chorus has a hook and is pretty good.
I must be the only one in the world that does't like how to production sounds. Not that I think that it ruins the song or anything but I don't think it pulls the song up a notch like it did for FOTF
Not impressed with it as a first single. Intrigued by Start Anew from Dreaming of some Space though.

the production saves it, but gem can't write a proper song if his life depended on it.

Over 1/3 of the voting fans on the bands largest fan forum find it "ok- not sure" to "crap"
there's your answer.
I always try to- to the best of my sensibilities- FORGET the ARTIST and focus on the MATERIAL.
But of course Liam and the get-a-long gang make that all-but impossible to do, admittedly.
The lion's share (and I do mean the LIONS share) of the bands output is so hopelessly monotonous and color-by-number that no amount of smoke-and-mirrors wait for it..."production" (god this board has made me loathe that fucking word, by the way) can save any of them.
Why don't you just throw some poor drowning fuck a fire hydrant while you're at it?
Every passing month just makes those who insisted Liam's voice made Oasis appear that much more buffoonish...not that Noel's "B/B-" of a solo album really hammered many nails in the coffin.
But, then, never mind.

All this 'production' bullshit is pure none sense. everyone's listening to the damn thing on youtube thinking he's the one who should have 'produced' the album...when they probably don't even know what a producer does/does not.

I've listened to it a few times. I think it's all right. It may be a grower. I definitely prefer FOTF over this one--FOTF sounds epic, but this one sort of...plods?

I love love love it.
Had it on heaps in the car today, got a top quality sound system in there, the intro is just to die for.
Probably prefer FOTF but I loved that too.
I really loved DGSS on first listen but the singles prior to it were merely enjoyable for mine. So I am expecting a very good album.

Ya, it's getting quite amusing at this stage!! FOTF is a good tune but this new song is a stinker. No amount of "production" could save it.

I've travelled the world seeing them been here along time man , ill never bash anything Gallagher I like the first tune better as well , but its just getting to much with production production production ....maybe I am too old man but i said this a few times here if I need a producer to make me like it. , the tune is in trouble .. Not trying to be a WISEASS. Just not how I perceive rock and roll

I love it! It's a sexy, gritty, deceptively-simple but actually quite sophisticated track that calls for some down-and-dirty hip-swiveling dancing. It will sound mega when they play it live! Can't wait to wave my arms in the air to it in Manchester on June 19! Beyond the obvious strong elements (the percussion and horns, and how strong Liam's voice sounds), one of my favorite parts is the excitement of the pacing -- the slow build of the horns at the start, added layer by layer; the unexpected extra beats in the space between verse and "the wor(l)d is up" chorus (at 0:33 and 1:03); the pause for the audible intake of breath before the first "C'mon, show what you love now" (at 1:30). The pacing gives me chills! The structure is good, too: after the big climax in the middle, I think it's really smart how they strip away most of the layers (at 1:57) and repeat the first lines of the first verse -- poetry and pop songs are best when they repeat themselves a bit, and it gives a brief cleansing before they surge back strong for a second time (at 2:26), coming back for more, layering it all back on in preparation for the long wind-down (love how the drums kick back in at 2:35!). It's very exciting. And I love that the wind-down "repeats" itself (although it doesn't really repeat anyway, as each measure is slightly different) because it builds purposefully, powerfully, entrancingly. But then I'm a big fan of the long wind-down, and I really get a physical thrill from it. Think of the long layered wind-down to "Gimme Shelter," although this track actually reminds me of the amazing section of Aretha Franklin's "Think" when she sings "Freedom, freedom, freedom!"

Song is fucking brilliant. Loud and easily to sing along to, perfect for a sing along live song.

I honestly have grown to dislike this song now. I honestly find it still too primitive in its influences, and its still stuck in the 1960s for me.
I am not winding any one up and wishing it to fail, because I'm all over Flick of the Finger - I love that tune. But this one is so repetitive and boring. If they think this is great then they still need to go away and draw on other completely different influences.

I'm just trying to imagine being around in the days when people got to hear 'Some Might Say' as the first single. The songs ok, weak writing but has good enough production to keep me excited about the album.

This talk of I blasted last night or I have a great stereo system.....and......? A great song doesn't need blasting, a good stereo system, your car, or great production. Sometimes it's just great. A good song stands on it's own. It doesn't need a test. It doesn't need good production. And could be heard through anything. Not really directed anyone. I just always find it weird when people are unsure about a song and then say, "Welp, time to put it my awesome super deluxe stereo system." Or "time for the car test". Or "where's the loss less version?"

Gotta get you into my life Played them on probably a 3 dollar 45 only record player ...instantly fell in love with them and rock and roll. Have it in cassette have it in cd ( probably lost or in storage ) but point is I didn't need a upgrade to love the tune .... Exactly why I don't care about production it matters I'm not oblivious ( contrary to what some may think) but if I like a tune just like it don't matter if I heard it first as old 45 it also shouldn't need production wizardry if the tune is there .... Right ? Gotta edit : before anyone says then why upgrade to cassette and cd. Because like most everyone else when they were new I bought .. Stopped at cd though no digital or whatever else is the new Star Trek technology. CDs the limit , lol.

Right ? Yea, I've always either had a cd player or from two years ago until now, my Zune with $10 headphones. Never really had a sound system and I have never had a car (always done public transportation)....but I've never listened to a song in a friend's car and fallen in love with a song because I listened to it in that car. I just listen to it a couple of times and then form my opinion. I've listened to SBOTA about 7 times since I first heard it, which is a lot for me with a song that's just been released. I always find it great if I listen to it a couple of times and then the next day or a few hours later I remember something from it. So I've never really gotten the "listened to it on loop for an hour straight and now I like it" perspective. To each their own I guess. But yea, I remember faintly hearing A Day in the Life for the first time coming through my dollar store radio in the next room and running to that room and wondering what I was hearing. Great music always comes through no matter where it is.
