For those who already heard it, what's your take on it?
I really like it, the production is superb, arguably the best a Gallagher has ever had. It really lifts the song to another level. Fortunately this isn't a mediocre song that doesn't go anywhere but sounds nice thanks to the production (like Flick of the Finger). The song has a solid enough structure, and the production just blows me away!
Nice one, guys! You've got me excited for the album...

Good, some of the vocals are really nasally, especially in the verses. Still think it's pretty good though, although I think at the moment I prefer Flick of the Finger.

it's great for me, cause i never would have expected something like this by a Gallagher especially Liam, who was always very 60s and stuck in this direction. the song itself will grow on me i think. I prefer "Flick of the Finger", but "Second Bite of the Apple" is great too! i'm really interested how they are going to playe both of these live, cause the Horns are pretty important to it.

Sitek has done his job with production. I was expecting to be blown away but instead I consider it only 'good'. Not a good first single.
I find the lyrics and beat a bit awkward. The chorus is great and so is the second half of the song. But the first half isn't easy on my ears, as others have said, it makes me cringe.

hmmm don't know what to think
its a lot different to what the band usually create. the song itself is kinda b side material, not much actually, don't know if it a grower or what but at first listening i don't like it too much, especially for the first single

i think it's great to release something like this as a single, cause it seems like a statement. DGSS was just trying to hard to be single filled big chorus rock album, but the new stuff from BE seems brave and interesting. DGSS had songs that were fun for the first 10 listens but then you forgot them, these i think are growers, altough i have to admit, that i'm not that blown away by "Second bite of the apple" too

First listen - Not sure, bit weird.
Third/fourth listen - Fucking amazingly freaky shit.
Big, big tune.

Love the production. Think Liam's vocals are great. Think the lyrics especially the 1st 2 lines are very poor. Tickle my feet with the NME? Overall much prefer flick of the finger. Still Liam's voice could take any song from being average to really good.

I'm on my third listen and still not sure. It starts off great, although the chorus has already gotten a bit repetitive. Hoping it will grow on me, but for right now I like Flick of the Finger alot more. edit; I do like the b-side though, and thanks to whoever reversed it already for us

Did people want 'the Shock of the Lightning Part 2'?
What is 'Single Material' anyway?
Radio station wont play it because it's Beady Eye, not because the songs shit.
PS, I like it, a bit different innit.

I don't get this 'Single material' bollocks. The chances of Beady Eye having a hit regardless of the worth of the tune are small. There's nothing wrong with this as a single for me.
People seem to be expecting some Oasis sized singles when both the songwriters and the circumstances are very different.

Here's what I can make of the lyrics. I have a hard time with the chorus (world or word?) so correct them if you guys are hearing differently.
Shake my tree where's the apple for me Tickle my feet with the NME No point laughing if you don't know why I'll fool my love just to hear her smile
The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough
Girl in the queue got her eye on you Think you're in and she's looking for sin Yes you're not wrong She wants to know what's in your pocket Singin that song dig it all night long
The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough
Come on! Show what you love now Come on! Show what you love now Come on! Show what you love now
Shake my tree where's the apple for me Tickle my feet with the NME No point laughing if you don't know why I'll fool my love just to hear her smile
The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough The world is up if you're tough enough
Come on! Show what you love now. (repeat)

it's a good solid tune definitely unique and has some catchiness to it, still want a massive fuck off guitar solo from Gem or Andy but all and all i'll give it an 8/10

hmmm only listened to it once so far. Production is cool, its nice having something different, theres a lot of space left in the song. The problem for me is just the weakness of the actual song. I still think the album will be decent and I like FOTF but Beady Eyes main problem is they cant write great. I do really like some of Liams songs, he for me is by far has the best head for melody, his lyrics are shocking though.

Yea, I don't want to say it's not "single material" in the sense that I'm expecting a big hit or TSOTL part two as someone mentioned. But I do think the purpose of a single is to turn heads and to be that song that gets non fans and fans alike, excited for an album. And I don't know if this song does it.
I'm not blown away by it. I think the song itself, like FOTF, is weak. But there are a lot of good elements working in its favor. Overall it seems like a good song. Not great or amazing, but good, solid. However not a "single", in the sense of wanting it to knock me off me off my feet.

I like it man. Probably even more than Flick of the Finger. Time will tell, idk. Great production once again. And damn, the second part of the song blows me away. 8,5/10
