Does anybody else agree that being a fan of oasis is more supporting a football team than just liking a band, and can anyone put there finger on why this is?

Yeah, its kinda weird. I've loved bands before, but nothing like the love I have for this one. This is the only band I would ever check up on daily (This message board), and I can never get sick of their music. My life was incomplete until I found Oasis.

Because of Noel's/Liam's attitude towards what being in a band is about methinks. Madferit, best/biggest band in the world etc.

yeah its this obsession. its possibly unhealthy the amount of knowledge i have accumulated in my head about them. their music is amazing but so is other bands.
i think the difference is their personalities. they've got the flair (more or less referring to the gallaghers....despite my love for gem and andy, and alan guigs and bonehead before them, its a vain attempt to deny that oasis is very much focused on those 2) as people that make them so interesting.
getting into oasis, whacked as it seems, changed the way i looked at people, how i valued and understood the consequences of honesty. you know, that message that its alright to be who you are and not conform. the fact they have never sold out. you've got that faith in them, that they are real and you can believe in them as much as they believe in themselves.
sounds dramatic, but i reckon its true
